"CHRONOSCOPE" was seen three nights a week on CBS, at 11pm(et), from 1951 through '55. The purpose of the program was to interview public figures, and present views from all sides of the political spectrum. During this period, Senator McCarthy's star was rising in the Republican party [and was a keynote speaker at their national convention in Chicago, a few weeks later].
