I'm with Dustin on this one. I was very disappointed with the 2016 that Mike and Keith really liked back in the days. Same for the full sherried 2022 that was too thin. This 2021 was a real pleasure. So far, I had the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022 and my top 3 would be 1. 2014 2. 2020 3. 2021

Wow...so I own 4 longrow 18's. 1 was that really old bottle. The other 3 are 2014, 2020 and 2021...

Very interesting review. My limited experience with scotch has not heard of using some chardonnay finishing. But could imagine an oaky, drier chardonnay working with sherry.

Longrow is 2x distilled. Hazelburn 3x and Springbank 2.5x

I have a heel left of a 2017, 60/40 sherry/bourbon Purchased when they were somewhat reasonable priced and you had more than 10 seconds to pull the trigger. I know what Dustin means by the Chardonnay cask finished Longrow single casks, still have an unopened 17 year Alberta only, after drinking my half of a bottle share on another. Doubtful I will ever see another 18 year Longrow.

Love this one - i gave it a 91! Just got the 2022 21 yo which is the same 30-60-10 composition. Will open it in New Years eve!

@@topshelfwhisky yes, I will be sharing with a few friends! By the way, the 2023 18 yo Springbank arrived yesterday and I opened it last night! I agree not much wood, i got delicious plum like flavors. For me, it’s a 91!
