Same story with me, I hated JD until I tried a SiB BP and now I stock it. To be fair No 7 is better than I remember it being, if a little pricey here. For how good I'm hearing the 12 is, I'm getting close to just paying secondary to try it. Cheers!
@peterwhite5078 сағат бұрын
Sadly it makes no difference how good it is. It will never show in Ontario despite the LCBO having 50,000 bottles of shelfer JD's in their stores. They are simply too stupid to use their buying power.

It doesn’t matter how good it is, it still tastes like Jack Daniels. I can appreciate the quality, but still not like the underlying flavor.

Mike!! Love these older videos!! I just bought 3 Benromach 15s!! Delicious! Keith sounds fabulous! Love the peat - always! I am surprised the peat is so low in the Benromach 15. I seem to taste more on my palette. :-) The bottle design has changed. Sipping on an Ardbeg 25 tonight!! Fabulous!! :-)

I tend to prefer the Kilkerran heavily peated releases. They are more interesting. I find this Longrow a little one dimensional.

I picked one of these up for just under $500 Cad a while back. I am going to bring it to the top of the next to be opened list after this review Would consider splitting the bottle if you are interested but not sure on the logistics. Cadenheads has a bunch of single cask Ardbegs distilled in the early 90's kicking around, and they are typically decently priced.

I came to Scotch when Ardbeg 10 was $45, Laphroaig 10 CS was $52 and the entire Springbank range, Local Barley and all, collected dust at Party Source. I took it all for granted...

I remember being at TPS and debating how many Springbank 16 LB and wondering if 169 was to much for mutable bottles. Also remember a Glenfarclas 40 year (46%) for 499. First time I walked into that place, it was Christmas for Whisky lovers.

This was bottled for the 10th Anniversary of the London Whisky Show. Very little information on the cask - although I assume it’s ex bourbon. I was able to get it at the show although it does pop up from time to time on the usual auction sites. Glad you liked it - agree that IB ardbeg is usually the way to go (when you can find it). Cheers!

Have you guys tried the latest Ardbeg 19? It’s lovely! This one sounds fantastic! I love the punchy smoke! I have been so underwhelmed with many of the Ardbeg special releases lately. Poor ABV - too low - and not punch enough! I will take a very dirty Ardbeg any day!! Aggressive and dirty! Clean dirty soumds amazing!! Fabulous review!! Oh wow!! Vanilla tobacco leaf!!! 🍃 Yes!!! 👍

Only had younger (12yr) Ardmore so far, and it had some pretty good peat. Last winter, I bought myself an Old Particular Ardmore 25 from 1997 53.3% refill bourbon hogshead. It was a unique small run of unpeated malt, but it is reported that there is a hint of peat as the distillery runs peated malt all the time otherwise. That plus the coal fired stills should be great. It is put away for a future birthday or some other special occasion. Cheers guys
