I remember this song! I was about 5 or 6 but they would play it on the radio back in the mid 80’s in Trinidad 🇹🇹.

Many would say good things about Penguin. Many would remember him for his songs. But there will always be more one can say about him. And let me be the one to say something about him no one else may remember....He was also a school teacher at Mt Hope Junior Secondary School. But there is one thing I didn,t know, he was also the brother of Martin Joseph, former National Security Minister. Rest in Peace my brother.

On holiday in Antigua as a teenager for two whole months with my mum and two sisters in 1980. Great memories.......happy times! I remember many of these awesome tracks..............also jouvet morning and Antigua carnival. We went to St Kitts too. My parents are from both these Islands. Talk about paradise on earth..............I didn't want to go home!!! I cried and almost made us miss our flight, just so that i could stay. Would've gladly stayed there if i could've, but we had to fly back to the U.K :( That was the first time i had been abroad. I bought the 12 inch King Short Shirt track, "Disco Dumpling." which was a big hit in the summer of 1980 in the West Indies 💟

This was the song and Soca Baptist when I went to my first carnival and was introduced to Soca music. After that I was hooked!

If my recollection serves me right, this was the runner-up of the Road March in 1980. I can still see Penguin singing this Master Piece at the OYB Tent! I was 16 years.

When I was small, I used to get on dancing like a little maniac hearing this song play. My mother must have thought how ironic. I was a little misbehaving devil myself.

I was 4 years old when this was released & I remember it like it was yesterday. My Old Man used to play it in his Ford Escort 🔥🔥🔥

This is as mischievous and irreverent as it gets, that's why it's one of my all time favourites. I'm really happy to read that so many people agree with my view that ol' time soca is vastly superior to its modern incarnation.

Played this on my flute with the Wayne Aspinal Junior High band led by Mr. Leroy Trotman for St. Thomas, V.I. carnival. Most fun on a truck.
