Who’s listening in 2020? The entire planet is on lockdown from covid19 and I’m at home with my family, going down memory lane. I hope that we all make it through this terrible time. In the meantime I’ll enjoy some great music from a West Indian legend. Thank you Slinger Francisco. All the best folks. One love.

Born in 96’ but I rather listen to them old time calypso. The rhythms that had our grandparents ready to stand up and move is now having me jam down de place. We must never forget those that came before us!

I was born in 98' and I feel the exact same. The music of today lacks any kind of feeling. It's as if there's no soul, which is ironic because Soca is the Soul of Calypso

2020 , what can I say, just the year of mass extinction. I recently lost my a good friend to COVID in April and now my pops who suddenly passed on May 16th (not COVID) without warning. He was from Trinidad & Tobago. I remember him telling me stories about working with The Mighty Sparrow back in the day. My dad worked in television, he started out in TTT station in Trinidad, then moved on to work at stations in the US to further his career starting from NBC, Discovery Channel, WPIX11 to finally FOX 5 NY. Hearing Sparrow also brings back memories of my grandmother singing Jean & Dinah when my brother and I were younger. Then hearing my grandfather call her by her name and tell her "Stop singin dat to de children.." LOL. I just needed to hear these songs to bring me back to those days when there were all alive and happy. I will miss my dad dearly. I can say my relationship with my dad was solid, and I am grateful for the time spent with him. For those that can, make the time with your family. Tell them you love them because things can change suddenly. Stay Safe.

Ahhh, beautifully put. You are quite poetic in your own right. But Yes!!! Sparrow was the 'Master' in lyrical delivery. His music reminds me of my late father. May he R.I.P. He was a real lover of Sparrow's music and it was through him I was introduced. Trini parents, UK born. Got to live out there. So I've had the best of both worlds. The world was a different place in the 80's, when I was a teenager. Or maybe, it was, that I, was innocent & sheltered from so much. I just wish we would 'All' Love each other more. Not necessarily down the line in which 'The Mighty Sparrow R.I.P was referring Lol 😝😂. Naughty but Nice. Missjamm/UK
