Hahahaha, why are there so many haters in here? 🤣🤣🤣 You d!©|{#€∆d$ know he built those synths and totally figured that track out on the spot, right? 😁 Make music, and then do it infront of a crowd and come back to this comment section when you're done. See if your perspective has changed. Music is art, its value subjective. If you don't like it, don't sit through it. 😅 But i digress.

I'm really laughing at people in the comments not realizing that he's doing all this on the fly based on the audience suggestions, and each time it's different. Try playing your version of a random song from a suggestion from an audience you smartie pants. The rest of the show is his music. You are judging the entire performance based on a small segment while you probably couldn't improvise an answer on what you like to do in your free time. Get a life you jokers

When he's asking if it's 16 or 32, is he talking about timing steps? If so, why is it 32 and not 16? (1,3,5,7,9,11,13,14)? I have to admit, I want it to be 16 *and* to have the guy he was lecturing about confidence turn out to be David Ball.
@michaelmollamusic
@michaelmollamusic 3 ай бұрын
(though, if you wanted to play all of the pats, I think it's 48, as the song seems to me to be in 6/8 time.)
@MrClarkio
@MrClarkio 2 ай бұрын
No it’s 32 steps. Tap your foot at about 140 bpm (a fast walk). Now hum the riff over it and you’ll find it’s 8 taps of your foot. Each tap is a quarter note (or 4/16ths) so therefore the total is 32 steps, a step being 1/16th.
@michaelmollamusic
@michaelmollamusic 2 ай бұрын
sure, but why does each quarter note need 4 timing steps? I don't hear any 16th notes in the riff. It seems to go: 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/8, dotted 1/4. So 16 1/8th-note steps should be sufficient.

If this is correct then I'm *really* confused, as bars = measures. As I hear it, the riff is 4 measures long at most.

Is this what music has been reduced to? Fucking hell, Mozart was writing operas at aged 12.
@bakayuki
@bakayuki 3 ай бұрын
hi! i know this probably just isn't your type of music and that is totally okay (i like mozart too!), but the device he is running is called an analogue synthesizer, and it predates modern micro-controllers and modern synths. its more like a giant oscilloscope and waveform generator with a built in keyboard. it takes a tremendous amount of technical knowledge to work with one of these, not to mention the multiple other instruments and musical creations he has made on his channel. there is still considerable technical aptitude and ability involved in what you are seeing here, it's just different from the type of music you're referencing, and unlike most music we here is being done live on the fly with no pre-tuned reference ranges. that's one of the reasons he was asking for chords and step counts.
@jblen

Mozart was a prodigy that stands as one of the most well known musicians of all time, and probably always will. This guy is not going to compare to Mozart, but neither is whoever your favourite modern artist is. Cut him some slack, either enjoy what he's able to create or just listen to someone else.

In a world of perfect digital recordings the analog man is king of a curious spectacle. The primitive gear he built for himself is not just impressive by its size and complexity but also the dangerous levels of current flowing through the crude half open contraption with dozens of wire's flowing out of it like a well of snakes. The analog man risk's his life not only through electrocution but also by being hit by a bottle if he upsets the crowd that seems constantly in a demanding drunken state of mind.
