I think people need to recognize how critical the "AI Indicators" in the top-left corner are. Not just for this video; I'm talking about this sort of thing being necessary for just about any media content uploaded to the Internet from here on out. But the obvious question arises: How the hell do you hold users accountable for providing this information during playback?
@TheManinBlack90542 ай бұрын
I would just add these indicators to a video with no AI at all >:)
@Viking_Cookie2 ай бұрын
I think this is one of the issues with how people approach AI, why do we only need AI indicators? Should films have to say when its an actor on screen doing stunts or a stunt double, or when a scene is filmed on location or using a green screen, or when something is CGI or practical effects? Should any photo which has gone through photoshop, even for things like colour or light balancing need to be flagged as edited? Media has been full of tricks to show you (sometimes) believable things and while some of them, mostly relating to films, you can expect an audience to understand that what they're seeing is to some extent not real, that's not true for all of them. Requiring only AI content to be flagged as not being "real" seems to be an attack on AI rather than a defence against people being misled. I think it's more appropriate for people to maintain a healthy scepticism over the media they consume, like people do when they watch films like Avatar. Requiring only AI content to be flagged or indicated would allow people to pass off material created or modified through other means as being "real", because it would separate out content elements into AI generated and "real".
@Furious3212 ай бұрын
@@Viking_Cookie Filmmaking? That's a terrible metaphor. Films are immediately recognized as works of fictional entertainment outside of documentaries. Regardless, you seem to have forgotten about the credit reel: Actors, stunt doubles, shoot locations (city and/or studio), and companies responsible for the CGI content are all made clearly visible to the viewer. When I look at KZfaq/Twitter/Twitch content, I'm not informed of whether a human generated it with a string of text, a human created it using Blender, or if an AI generated it by producing its own prompt(s) with not one human involved at all. Is that really acceptable? And this is completely ignoring the issue of accuracy in videos that make statements as facts. An entirely separate can of worms, that one is. "Hey that tidbit of information sounds like bullshit. Let me question the guy who made it. Oh wait, no one made it."
@TheCman5015PLPro2 ай бұрын
It unsettles me how little I picked up on the fact that the script was AI generated in places. More often then not, I just watch to hear your voice and don't really think too much about what is being said. Only when I stopped to really listen to the words did I realize how little it made sense. I'm not ready for this new world.
@thennoth2860Ай бұрын
thats interesting, my experience this video has been a lot of listening to what he's saying, then a very jarring moment where either the voice suddenly sounds dead (and American), or the script just sounds totally wrong to what I expect from his writing style (and sure enough look up and the respective element has been AI-ified!). I think the AI used here for script-writing where it takes over is very big on "amplify the previous point with jargon, or roll onto the most obvious progression given the circumstance" while managing to go quite off track or using metaphors that don't seem right. Valid script writing, but it doesn't feel like his work.

(Note: I made my comment before the re-upload, I've watched the video already 🙂) One thing I try to notice is the inflection on the narrator's voice. They don't have a good job adding emphasis on their dialogue, and end up sounding robotic. What worries me is that the energy it takes to identify what is real and what isn't is only growing; we need to rely on tools, or trust the content creator just to figure out if what we're watching is real. What worries me is the thought of people dismissing anything they see until it's verified by journalists, or just out of their own political bias. That adds more work to an already stressing job, where any mistake is costly. We're just getting started in the Information Era, and while it brought forth many positives in the way we communicate and problem solve, it also brought a wave of uncertainty and chaos. What will happen in the future? We can only sit back and watch. Great video as always, Phillip.

Now I'm also starting to lose interest in programming and electrical engineering because it is also able to be automated by AI. Somehow even though it was enjoyable first the fact that it is now automate-able makes it lose that specific creative appeal it once had. I kinda fear for it because once all creative outlets lose this specific spark it will mean the only engagement humans might have could be consumptive in nature, which is just soulless and would, in any other time be considered dystopian.

Ai is an interesting tool to quickly generate answers or see an example of something you want to do. What's the most obvious writing strategy or draw this idea and tweak it as I say for a reference. It's a bit of a game to manipulate it for what you want when you want specifics, you need very clear guardrails to keep it from doing fun or controversial things, and even when it's working perfectly it can come off as simple minded or hallucinate completely wrong information since it has no context for what it's actually doing or saying. I fully agree, it's a tool that can make repeated tasks easy or test ideas, but the people who are most excited for it don't have a clue how it works and everyone I know is getting a little scared as ai images are being tested and voice and images are already showing up way more than they should where you start to doubt everything.

I don't even know what will happen, maybe the EU will ban certain AI or something. I feel kinda indifferent about it as well. If my job is up for grabs, then probably most other jobs will be replaced in the same period of time. But I don't know how humanity will feel if a vast amount of the population is replaced and out of the job. Just like in your AI art video, there will probably be a reaction to all this amazing AI being made in the form of regulations or counter-AI programs.
