If you want a grid connection for your workshop eventually, the electrical panels with transformers could be a good deal as the utility will charge you a mint to sell you a transformer.. I'd suggest paying an engineer or electrical inspector for a consult and seeing what size and voltage rating you might need and then keep an eye out for something that fits the bill..

Doubt he will have 3 phase 480 brought to his shop. The utility does not sell you a transformer. They usually charge you up to 49% of the cost to install the line to your property. They own the majority so they are responsible. You can, if so inclined to, buy power at high voltage and run your own lines but it is not cost effective unless you have a large farm or facility to do that.

Check the inside of the air tank for rust. I plug all the fitting holes then pour the correct paint/epoxy in and roll it around to coat all the inside. Remove plugs until ready for second coat. Makes tanks last 10 times longer. Daily draining or automatic dump valve are an absolute necessity.

It was powered by a 100 HP screw air unit. Great system and every bench draw off had it's own drip leg. The upright was set up with a timer moisture auto bleed system which vented outside. If you have some small receivers they can be included and set at 1/4 system intervals. Yes they have battery operated moisture bleed offs> Good luck All the best I enjoy watching !

Hope this helps

I would suggest that you buy that Crane and put it up first, with proper concrete footings and everything else. And then later on assemble the building around it. That makes the most sense to me the crane might even be helpful as a Gantry and to move building materials around. And you sure could use the hell out of it in the meantime. This may require a little rain-proofing if the electrical boxes aren't really designed for outdoors but it's doable.

11:29 the brake is inside the transmission, that's why it stalls when you're in gear and hit it too hard. The advantage of this is, you can apply equal breaking action without having four individual brakes on each tire if you lock all 3 diifs. It's also much more reliable as you don't have exposed lines etc.

Had a boss that had some Ritchie Bros Auctions each year on his land. Some days you just wanted to duct tape the bosses hands down. He'd buy stuff to use on a project then sell it off after he was done with it. After the auctions I'd have to go up and get our stuff running again because people would do stuff to the equipment to get it cheaper. Like when the bosses kid stopped to pick me up because an old wd45 allis wouldn't start for the auction. One look and I said the coil wire is fake because I just changed the wires and the coil wire looks different. Someone pulled the coil wire boots off and put them on a old piece of hose that later turned out came from the wiper washers of an old truck that was for sale. Was a great way to keep sharp at problem solving after the sales.LOL The old glass fuse gets heated up and they pull the end cap and a little bending and put the cap back on so it don't look blown unless you check it with a test light. After a few times of that he hired a guy to keep an eye on the stuff and the problems stopped. Shame though because it was kinda fun seeing the creative ways people try and get a deal.

I’m sorry but that crane is going to be expensive to install! Sure it looks cool. I have been around those kind of cranes for a long time. In most cases they are seldom used and rarely justify the time and expense of their original installation costs, let alone maintenance and safety testing they are required to have. The motors are most likely 3 phase, so they will have to be replaced. Who is saying it even works properly and safely? To get the full capacity of the crane you will need a complete steel support structure installed, unless you plan to only use it at a fixed point. In that case there are way cheaper ways of accomplishing that. The Richie Bros. Auctions can make you buy crazy stuff! Good luck! I enjoyed the video Matt. It’s always interesting to see what is selling there. I keep thinking we will see your new shop from the drone. Oh well.

Hey Matt, are you hooking up your new shop with 120/208 3phase or 277/480? If you are getting a high voltage feed you could definitely make use of a transformer and dual panel setup from the cracker plant so you can run dual voltage 3 phase (480 for running big motors and lighting and 120/208/240 for regular receptacles and welding 2- and 3-leg setups with 208 or 240 volts)…just thought I’d throw that out there.

Regarding your air tank: I think you want to add a oneway valve on the output side and a oneway valve on the input side plus a overpressure valve which only lets air into the tank when your compressor nearly reached its shutdown point. This way you first fill the small tank on the compressor and the pressure rises very quickly in your whole system, while the large tank will only fill up when your compressor normally cut off. The compressor will then continue to run until the large tank is filled as wwll. When you use a large amount of air the large tank will continue to supply air to your system as long as the system pressure is below the tank pressure. This way it will supplement your air compressor when needed, while you can start working right away as soon as the small tank is full. Make sure to also add cutoff valves on the output side, to allow to cut the air tank off your system, as any small leak will otherwise cost you a lot of money if you don't use the air system for a while and the large tank will empty itself.

The thing about the overhead crane - let it go out of the building - allowing it to bring in and take out, not just at the doorway.

If you buy the bridge crane. I recommend getting a certified bridge crane welder to do the modifications. You may remove something or put something on that may cause catastrophic failure. When you shorten a bridge crane you lift ton goes up.

When I first saw the water tank, it looked like a generator or welder, even though I noticed the fill port. Surprised me, but that’s ok. Regarding the gantry crane, I don’t think the crane truck you’ve got is gonna be able to lift that into place in the new shop.

The red Polaris Ranger is probably fine. Around the six minute mark, when testing the green one, you can se a sticker saying "HIGH RANGE LOCKED OUT. DO NOT TAMPER". So they probably just need a bit of tampering :)

its just the cable adjuster is limited from going to high. he just need to tamper with it until it allows the cable to pull the transmission all the way. the grinding is it being half engaged. source : own this polaris.
