In the Hebrew Bible there are TWO traditions about the so-called "Ark of the Covenant"-- one made famous in our time by books, movies, and Ark Hunters--that golden chest with the cherubim. The other a simple wooden box that Moses made--overlooked and unknown. The latter is the one that held the "Testimony," or EDUTH...but what does that mean--and what happened to it? Do we have any clues, any ancient documents?
You can download a free PDF of all the references in the Hebrew Bible to this "Ark of the Testimony" which can also be translated "Chest of the Pact."

Hey keep in mind there are legends and there is "history"...but the redaction and editing of the books we call the Torah reflect concepts and ideas over a wide range of periods and viewpoints...That said, legends and "myth" work as effectively as what we like to think of as historical factual material...and even the latter is often unrecoverable to us. My historical work is based on a kind of "history of ideas" approach across time and culture, and in this presentation it is clear that what people "believe" about the "Ark" works as effectively in our world as anything one might be convinced as "real history."

I thought that when you did the programme on the dead sea scrolls that it proved there were hardly any edits or redactions in the Hebrew Bible? This was achieved by rigorously counting the letters, words and numbers for each page from a master copy by the Hebrew scribes. Of course this technique was not used by the Christian scholars and who also had the disadvantage of having to translate Hebrew into their own language . There would also be the temptation to "adjust" texts to improve or embellish it's effect for making the Christian New Testament Bible even more appealing. So I agree with your history of ideas concept but would stress that it mainly concerns texts that are classed as "Christian". The whole concept of changing even the punctuation of a Hebrew script is abhorrent to the credibility of the text. I would argue that this attitude is more about the hidden QBLH meanings in the text that are there to be discovered today but no doubt a Jewish Rabbi (the successors of the astronomical priestly class of Saducees) would argue that it is to preserve Gods word as it was written by his finger ( see the stele of Hammurabi 232 laws).

@@impossiblewindows4367 Good point and you should also know that most of the Dead Sea scrolls are additional writings that don't form part of the Hebrew Bible canon (although that may have been finalised during the first century CE). The point I was making was that part of the texts in Hebrew that are in today's Hebrew Bible, the words and letter counts have been attested by scholars to be almost perfect. Now I didn't see any statistics on this or even know how it was calculated from such poor quality material but if it is generally accepted by most scholars then I am willing to accept that unless you have compelling info to the contrary.

There is a conception among some of the "Thunderbolts/Electric Universe" adherents that static electricity in the atmosphere was once much higher than it is now, and that this somehow enhanced either/and something like ESP or a communication with some kind of Oversoul. As this electrical charge began to wane these abilities or capacities waned with it and became much less reliable. This led to the warnings against listening to these unaccountable prophets and a rise in the "official" prophets who had a better record of accuracy. The same thing happened in Greece. Going along with this is the observation that, as a substitute for this capacity, people developed writing as a memory and communication aid, and eventually these became phonetic rather than metaphorical, making them much simpler for non-scribes to learn but with the disadvantage that they were dependent spoken language. The "Tower of Babel" came down. This phonetic text initially was only consonants, and the directionality of the writing was random, but over time we developed diacritics and ultimately separate letters for vowels, along with a standard direction with punctuation marks. So writing came to mimic speech. This idea fits rather nicely into the Julian Jaynes hypothesis and even explains things he didn't explain. It also fits with McLuhan's notion of technologies as the "extensions of man." The adoption of phonetic writing also correlates nicely with the collapse of the Bronze Age civilizations. Of course, enhancing a local electrical charge as an experiment probably doesn't usually enhance ESP very much, so it's probably not a complete explanation. But it could have been part of a mix of factors. Initially in the 19th century, with the advent of electricity, there was a resurgence of "mediums" who communicated with the dead, etc., called "Spiritualism". So, at least there was an association with electricity as a kind of "mock up of the Holy Spirit" (as McLuhan puts it), and eventually we began to channel this energy through telegraph, radio, and TV... and now the "digital interwebs." It all makes a weird kind of sense looked at that way.

In addition to being a formidable scholar, Dr. Tabor is a masterful lecturer. I'm fascinated by his ability to interpret text by reference to the original language(s), of which he is fluent, and also by providing his own novel, speculative readings, along, of course, with his reasons and underlying logic that support his opinions. He's very compelling... Ps I also note that between the careful manner in which he quotes from and then interprets each word in a text and his correct pronunciation of Hebrew, at times it almost felt as if I was listening to a Rabbi deliver a lecture to his students 😋

On the subject of tablets of stone with writing on, we have a ready supply of suitable flat writing stones in Wales, which were widely used in schools to practice writing on. They are usually dark grey, but can vary between dark grey-red-brown and -blue-green : colours beyond this are usually rougher on the surface and do not take writing so well, and flake off too easily. A small writing stone can be used to write on the tablet. Light pressure leaves a faint line, which can be washed off with water and gentle rubbing with a finger or wet cloth. Harder pressure with a sharper writing stone is 'water-resistant'. These writing tablets can be made of thick material, down to about an eighth of an inch thick. They are not transparent or translucent, but both sides can be used, and if thrown at the ground, they shatter into many small pieces (the thin ones do, anyway). Welsh slates are also used for roofing, They also have some in Iberia, Armenia, and probably in the Levant.

12:30 I think one possible translation for כבוד in this context (well, of כבוד by itself, not a literal translation of this specific smikhut with ענן), or least one possible way to think about the semantic cloud (pun intended) of meaning that permeates כ־ב־ד almost as a kind of gravitās. The juxtaposition of the lightness of ע־נ־ן and the heaviness of כ־ב־ד here is interesting, as well.

The voice crying out in the Wilderness tells you the general geographic area to look in; "Prepare ye the way of the Lord" refers to the preparations required to return the Ark to the Temple, "Make His paths straight" instructs how the return must take place. More interesting is the conundrum about the command commonly translated as "thou shalt not steal"; If it really should read "thou shalt not kidnap" then it can be read as an injunction against slavery, a practice that the Torah tolerated. This, together with the absence of a blanket prohibition on theft, raises all sorts of questions about how the "Testimony" was adhered to by those who claim to do so...

I am sure Dr. Tabor is familiar with the Ethiopian holy book, the Kebra Nagast, that narrates the history of the Ark and how it ended up in Axum. I read somewhere that at some point, probably around the end of the 19th century, a European traveler, or maybe an archeologist, was actually able to see the alleged ark. He was rather disappointed in that the ark was nothing like what he expected. He described it as a small wooden box, rather ordinary and old, and did not fit the description of the Ark that is tradionally described, with all the bells and whistles. I wonder. I wonder.

Why then are the 5 matters written on both sides of each tablet? Why do the jews retain both sets of the tablets? (One written by the hand of God and one written by Moses)? Spiritually i dont think there is an answer to these questions but astronomically there is using QBLH.

Could you elaborate on QBLH, I've read some of your comments, and I agree. Over the past year, I've been able to decrypt a astronomical almanac/model of the heavens from the demensions/geometry of the Ark. Once you've taken the system out to about 10 years, you would swear you're looking at some Mayan codex if you didn't know where the figures came from. Lunar years, solar years, 360, 364, sidereal and synodic periods of the planets. It's hard to imagine so much information could be communicated by the Arks simple demensions, It's the Aks volume and total surface area.

@@scottericson5347 yes the Hebrew Bible was written to conceal their advanced knowledge of Astronomy. This was very practical, in it's basic form it was an agricultural calendar to time their crop cultivation. Exodus texts prove a change from the Genesis calendar to one more suited to mesopotamian weather cycles which were not dictated by the annual Nile Floods (as they were in Avaris Nile Delta). However it had an even more complex form that consisted of using this astronomy, the knowledge of time, complex geometry and mathematics (using the idea of positive and negative integers) to create a global navigation system for use on land or at sea. This system can be demonstrated from the Biblical descriptions of their structures (the Mishkan Tent and their temples including the House of the Forest of Lebanon and even it's remodelling by Hezekiah and Isaiah) and from the QBLH meaning of the stories or myths contained in the Hebrew Bible. There are rules for QBLH that were originally oral in nature and never revealed openly until the destruction of the Hebrew records at Lydda by the Romans. Following this disaster their chief Rabbi Akiva, decided to put these rules in writing, they are a kind of cryptography of ancient Hebrew. It's very subtle and beautiful when you find a piece of text that contains this QBLH within it. A better guide to understanding the QBLH was written by a latter Jewish Rabbi in the 12C (another one of the greats Maimonides). You then study the Mishkan Tent and the Temples to confirm that the architecture supports the maths and the theory. QBLH is the true meaning of the Garden of Eden in Genesis. The 2 trees one of life and one of knowledge. The tree of knowledge contains the 4 fruits of knowledge or levels of understanding a QBLH word or phrase in Hebrew. These 4 methods of encryption are remembered using the Hebrew acronym PRDS which means paradise ( the garden of paradise in Genesis where the 2 trees stand). Actually, PRDS can also means orchard where trees and fruits are grown or cultivated - the Hebrew Bible speaks of fruit and wine a lot and it usually means QBLH knowledge is present in the text. I've written a book about it in detail, discussing who might have been the originator of this technology, it seems too advanced for the Sumerians although they definitely knew some parts of it as did other civilizations around the world but it's only in the Hebrew Bible where you see a detailed understanding of precession, malkovitch cycles, spherical trigonometry, eclipse cycle predictions. In fact the Song of Songs by King Solomon is all about the beauty of this astronomical system and walking in the ways of God becomes "navigating according to this one system of astronomy". Somebody is responsible for spreading this technology around the world. The Hebrew Bible says it was them - perhaps we should start believing them, after all, it's pretty clear that they invented the 22 letter alphabet during the time that the so called "advanced civilizations" of mesopotamia were still using the 300 + character cuneiform writing system?

@@scottericson5347 Hi Scott, can you share anything on your astronomical almanac of the ark? Can you say definitively that it is not coincidence? For example in the Hebrew Bible, there are certain stories that relay astronomical events but without using QBLH you would never decipher these.
@scottericson5347
@scottericson5347 3 ай бұрын
@robsellars9338 Hello, I can't say with absolute certainty that this almanac I generated based of the 3 demensional space of the Ark is not a coincidence. However, the underlying truth is you can, as an example, about a year ago two professors published a paper about a Mayan cycle time cycle that is 819-days and 16380-days in relationship with the synodic periods of all naked eye planets. I knew about the significance of 16380-days about a month prior to the publication, I didn't come to this understanding from some Mayan codex, I got it from the Ark. Moreover, I can explain 16380-days in a way that is far greater than two seasoned professors could using their methods, I was using the Ark. By this understanding, Biblical chronology takes on a celestial phenomenon. One way to explain it would be "Spacetime" the space(volume) of the Ark and the boundarie (surface area)of the space is relative to time.
@robsellars9338
@robsellars9338 2 ай бұрын
That is sooo interesting! It matches with the QBLH that is in the Hebrew Bible. The stories are myths although they are based on facts, but they reflect astronomical time spans, celestial space time as you say. Have you looked at the descriptions of the mishkan tent, Solomon's temple or the house of the forest of Lebanon? What do you make of those?

There is deeper meaning to the Hebrew Bible than u guys are percieving at the moment The first Hebrew law is sanctity of time but where is that mentioned in the 10 words?

@@robsellars9338 Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their posterity were protected. Think of the famine and how they were able to move to Egypt. They prospered in the land of Canaan as long as they kept the commandments. They were captured by their enemies because they worshiped other gods in more ways than one. Breaking any of the commandments is the same as worshiping other gods.

The ten commandments are not necessarily for the people of the entire Earth in the specific Jewish context. Moral laws have existed in other parts of the world from before the time of Moses. For example: The laws of Code of Ur-Nammu, Hammurabi, _Sanatana dharma_ and others. the The 10 commandments are exclusively for the people of that religion: Thous shall not kill another person of your own community - obviously. Consider all the innocent deaths that the so called followers of the 10 commandments are currently causing in Gaza.

Interesting, so the Ark was hidden from the Babylonians. Why would it not be hidden there repeatedly? One could hide a stone tablet by just putting it down like it was a paving stone. The box would be carbonized in the volcano eruption but the tablets would have been hidden. F. Miller

Given we know the Hebrew records are greatly altered, I'm amazed you'd consult the JPS instead of exploring the DSS variants, as evidence is they were also altering the Prophets - especially Isaiah! All the Torah is a mess too, as it ascribes many evils to God, when those things defied His word and character. "V" is the key - the Valediction of Moses. Jesus taught according to "V", not what Judaism gave us from their perversions.

Congratulations professor! Now you are getting into the real reason the Hebrew Bible was written - QBLH (it's all about the numbers and the astronomy linking earth to the cosmos). I know you like Hertz but he is just projecting his meaning onto these writings and not their original meaning. Torah is the teaching of the law but which law? It is the law of the covenant which means you have to agree to it but not only you, all nations of the world need to agree to it, such as the laws of the cosmos. If one nation chooses a different prime meridian from another nation then the tower of babel situation ensues. In Genesis the Rabbis will confirm to you that the first (and therefore most important mitzvot law) is TIME. That's quite strange for a holy book BUT not strange for a book on cosmology where time and the measurement of it are THE most fundamental concept in order to develop any kind of understanding. I could tell you more but you probably won't get this except that I will explain about where the word QBLH comes from. They are the 50 gold fasteners that were used upon the veiled opening inside the Mishkan Tent. Did you ever wonder why this word was used to convey the cryptography of QBLH teachings in the Hebrew Bible? It's because 4 veils were used to symbolise the 4 levels of knowledge contained within the architecture of the Mishkan Tent ( and the later temples) and the Torah and the 10 words of the tablets. QBLH means parallel as in the 4 parallel veils that symbolised these 4 levels of meaning. By the way both sets of tablets were stored within the ark. The whole design integrates with the Torah to produce a comprehensive technology of astronomical knowledge. The spiritual or moral guidance is secondary. It's the reason the Rabbis met at Yavni after the final destruction of the second Temple between 70-135 (after Bar Kochba- the son of the messianic STAR). There was no longer a temple to continue observations from and Hadrian had virtually cleansed the Jews from Israel by this time. No prophets (astronomers) were produced by Israel again, it was the end of that epoch as the Romans not only destroyed the Temple, they burned all of their astronomical records cached within the store rooms of the Temple.

I’m interested in hearing more. So what do you think is the significance of the astronomical meanings? What’s the point if it’s not tied to prophecy (knowing past, present or future events)?
@robsellars9338
@robsellars9338 2 күн бұрын
@@shayalynn I think I might have mentioned the significance of the astronomical meaning previously but it has many practical uses to any civilization. Archaeologists have found evidence of modern mans activities on earth going back hundreds of thousands of years, but they only date the existence of civilizations to 5,000 years (now 12,000 years with Gobekli Tepe). However, if there is evidence of advanced astronomy in the oldest written records we have on paper, then it's likely that civilization happened way, way earlier than 5,000 years ago. This is because it gives the knowledge of when to plant seeds for wheat or corn and when to store that food through a winter season. It also gives the ability to navigate the season and the lands, allowing you to know where you have been and where you want to go back to. This all sounds simple stuff today but imagine starting from scratch today, without satellites, without clocks- how would we count time? The seasons change every year, so counting days would always result in failed crops and there would be no way to navigate to find other food sources or to trade with other people's. This is why the first Law or Mitzvot of Torah is TIME, the sanctification of time. The whole Torah is called the book of the Law but the law it is really talking about in the QBLH four fruits of knowledge (PRDS) is the laws of cosmic time. The Torah seems to be the source, in my opinion, for all of this knowledge throughout all of the great civilizations of antiquity. This is because the Torah understands cosmic time perfectly and the great civilizations did not, so they must have imitated the Jewish systems as best they could. The knowledge is hidden within the text and their rituals because it would have been extremely valuable to whoever held it. Follow the path of the Jewish people throughout history and you will find that wherever their diaspora went, that was the centre of wealth, power and enlightenment in the world (until they moved or were forced out). Even today it's difficult to find anyone Jewish who will teach knowledge of this ancient QBLH, and even then I didn't find anyone who understood the ancient system for measuring time. The Torah wasn't written as a religion, it was written to carry the QBLH within it. The proof of this comes from the fact that some of the stories(mythology or legends) are disjointed and contain codes within them. Scholars and historians cannot make sense of these anomalies, arguing that they are because so many different authors wrote each story or even that each story is a collection of mini legends (see samson story in book of judges). But they don't understand QBLH because they have never studied it, the 4 fruits of QBLH are called paradise (PRDS) because they represent the 4 levels of understanding that each story has been written to carry - it's quite brilliant. The first level of understanding is the surface level meaning - the myth or legend being told. Even this is skillfully done using rhyme and rhythm which is not apparent if you don't know Hebrew language (see Moses song of the sea from Exodus). Writing in this way allows for stories to be remembered like the words of a song (oral tradition) without error or missing words etc (this is important if these words contain hidden codes as even the slightest change would kill the transfer of knowledge) So that's why this shit is important!

The story you are attempting to indicate is REAL is describing Moses (L brain) entering R hemisphere (spacial) under hypnosis, in meditation. Same with who went with Moses (mind) CHAOS. Moses is always L brain. Is always unyielding, punishing, g-d shows favoritism, experience pain, lies, kills, war. Egypt is R hemisphere, spacial, goodness, blessed, seeks God, knows God. Blessed.

This example of this flaw is one of humans most repeated mistakes of orientation and direction. It's always safe and pure in the ark where God may dwell ,act or move upon at his own discretion . Orientation & direction for some archetypal minds more form shape physicalist even outside the bible that can he witnessed between classical physics vs qauntom physics.. We witness something similar with some folks veiw on Paul's universal reductionism . In modern terms He is not just saying earth physically shook but every Plank length bit of cosmos was transmutated metamorphosis washed in the blood of Jesus cracked open like an egg ready for the unveiling . Unified physical subjective ideological . All 3 interactions God chose to create with and interact through with his creation. And holographic resurrection physically returning Jesus to the greater system at large. Something we may see on the smallest scales where we get an arbitrary example of pre fall Edens infinite degrees of freedom yet uniformity timelessness without linear direction just perfect building blocks of energy bubbling up returning to the cosmos at large. We see this in secular scholarship as well. not understanding how arguing over physical attributes and essence fools many to create in their own image of man , because they seem so different.they must be different gods, the father of ur is not the same as Uruk. Then many gods form, generations become separated and confused. Etc etc etc All recorded attempts of monotheism outside is the corruptions not the inspiration..no one starts with many of anything lol One comes to the conclusion its a power greater than themselves based upon the observations made in the world around us this is ultimate personal context and knowing God.

I think we see a similar ecclesiastical input and perimeters based on idealistic man made time correlated with subjective space between and photons while treating this dualism physical leading to many world branches, multi verses , Dark matter etc etc. When we disregard phenotypical song and dance triality self awareness epistemology it leads to such phenomen being imagined or used to bend evidence in manifolds. It's just inerrant lines of thought measures and missing links

Jacob and the Angel wrestling at Peniel is another one of the QBLH passages of the Hebrew Bible that has astronomical meaning. That's the main reason scholars can't agree upon the reason behind this story - none of them understand Hebrew QBLH! Why does Jacob walk off with a limp? Why is there word play between Jacobs name and the rock of Peniel in Hebrew language? Look deeper for a factual reason, it's not spiritual it's cosmography.

yer freaking me out. reasonable and rational with objective distance for so long. Then those last days of Jesus uploads? now this. jar of manna? a-doot? rod of A-ron? That box is in the bigger box? You see how important this A-doot is...? Holograph? we wont go into that right now... Translucent Flint? So this would be a smaller box, a jewelry box, the A-doot would be put inside there, quad presence to Oh-naan, a place for it to slide or fit, remember the two compartments, the finger of god, this is an apple tablet, Revelation??? Ten words in the pillar of fire, decalogue??? 3rd or 4th grade? By the many arms of Ganesha, retirement has not been for your well being. You need another hobby.
