I picked up a 1953 Crown today for £3. Some of us have a real lisp you know 🤣🤣🤣. Great to look through the mag ads. 😎🍀💜

Got that edition CP and the ad's on page 9 and 10 were a full page colour ad for Double Diamond (very cute) and BW Ovaltine. The cut out was for Phillip's Bicycles based in Smethwick. They may have been put into frames or a scrapbook?

It's fascinating how different the world looks from a different perspective, over here 1953 was the time of rebuilding the country after it was ravaged by WWII and dealing with the absolute worst of communist poverty... Even the coins were minted abroad and with designs done on the quick because the mint wouldn't get rebuilt until 1956. Love from Poland!

Bit of a rip off saying the "Coronation in wonderful colour", and only having the front cover and a couple of pages inside in colour, unless they meant in black and white! 😂 Very shiny coins as well 👍

Are you sure the farthing was demonitised in 1960? I thought it was 1961?

Some souces say 31st December 1960 and others say 1st January 1961. Either way there's just a day in it.
