I have a Teampie TP-8504 , it only cost me $89 plus shipping so for the price it was a great deal , (they thought I wanted to test it as a sample , before ordering a containers worth lol). But I also received an email last month from the real buildhouse that stereo integrity uses so I'm going with them next. Teampie does have great mono amps that are used by deaf bonce and emf.

No matter what they put internal parts high grade etc...b.s.. Nothing can beat the SQ of late 80s early 90s. Class A made in usa amps.... Owned many old school amps... and some new high end like BRAXx Graphic edition..etc... McIntosh... Etc.. All great sound... But sold them all and now just running my fav Adcom amps.... Adcom amps. Built by Mr .Nelson... One of the best unique sound..... You can listen to all day ..and never get tired of the adcom sound..

This amp is the equivalent of average insta “models” expensive but nothing to offer.

TO-3 transistors, that's rather unusual nowadays, and the MJ15024 (of which there is one per channel) is one of the suggested replacements for the output transistors in the 1970s/80s version of the Peavey CS-800...

It doesn't sound bad. As long as you run it with matching components, it'd be nice in a display demo set up. Just have to be modest about it's output.

All show, no go! You have to admit, it is beautiful to look at. I do like the TO-3 diamond base power transistors. Most modern amplifiers run TO-247 "flat packs". Nothing wrong with the flat packs, (TO-220, T0-247, TO-264) I use these case styles in my designs all the time. It's just unique, to see these "old school" case styles in modern amplifiers. It would be interesting, to test the frequency response of this amplifier, compared to less expensive amplifiers of similar power rating. The power supply is definitely a try and a miss. I would expect much better, from a "high end" amplifier. (good choice of MOSFET's in the power supply)

Hey Derrek great vid as always! I'm watching you from Maine and I myself have carried many brands of equipment throughout the years, including some very high end German and English..etc..etc.etc! This amp looks similar to Helix Precision class in design but no-way I'm sure in quality & design as I used to deal in Helix I know better! lol! But anyways it sounded descent for the price tag and your bookshelf speakers really bring out the highs[ are they silk tweets?] So aside from this my question to you is, who makes that black power supply to the left[only could see the corner of the face] I believe it resembles a Massive Audio BP series 200Amp power supply, could you please give some feedback on it either way if I'm right on brand or wrong would be a great help! I no longer run my business but still build systems for my family and friends...My personal BMW 3 series is in build process with 5 Massive Audio Blade series[older models] amplifiers, with the Cap-B extensions a single 12" Helix Esprit carbon flat sub glassed in to the trunk[non-removable] all Orion XTR components[5 pairs mixed 6.5" & 5.25"] play the beats with 2 8" MB Quart shallows in the footwells[glassed in removable floor pods] for mid-bass 80-120hz dialed in via the 2 main 4 channels with built in band-pass x-overs! this being said, I need to power all this stuff with a supply[car is up for winter, show only] other than the 2 Optima Batteries while I finish my build, the power supply I have is a TrippLite 35Amp[old school] its extremely powerful but not above 35 Amps continuous and I don't want to cook it, because it's no longer made! So I'm wracking your brain, what do you use? What do you suggest? keep in mind I don't have Steve Meade dollars or requirements for a large 240Volt like his, but I have a feeling you've been doing this stuff long enough to know about what I'm looking for, so any info you can give me would be awesome, I am Old School as well[49 years old] car audio veteran and see the electronics world has dramatically changed, from my upbringing of this field! I started out with Carver, Concord, JBL, ADS Technologies[Orion/PPI/ ADS], ADCOM Car Amps, Rockford Fosgate[older Punch 30/45/75/150 & of course DSM IX], Eclipse, Phoenix Gold, Kicker, Alpine..etc..Then I opened up my own shop selling Helix/Brax, Genesis, U.S. Amps, RE Audio, MASSIVE, Audio Control, Planet Audio[I made it work], Powerbass Extreme, etc... so enough with my resume' you get the picture I've worked with many brands in my lifetime! For a class a/b amp 87watts a channel at 4ohms is really good. I dont want crossovers or anything else in my amp so I'd use one

Just go with American made zapco if you want true SQ! :-) if you're wanting to run old school equipment zap go still a good choice but audio art in Boston acoustics may be an excellent choice as well.

Would have been nice to put the switching frequency of the DC converters a bit higher so it doesn't make all kinds of weird high frequency noises.

Yeah, they could get a bit more power out of single pair of 15024/25 Motorola output transistors, easily 100W, but it has rather 'small' power supply, some +/-30V on rails. It should be able to take 1ohm no problem. These are older, 5MHz, 15A, 250W trans from the '80s, that make stable, simple, clean sounding amps. Needs more voltage on rails (and silicon) to meed the factory specs.

If this is a 4ch SQ amplifier testing it at subwoofer frequency should cause it to underperform shouldn't it?

The amp looks awesome and to me it sounds pretty good thru the video. I like it but I only seen the one Chinese company selling it.

I don't get your tests. Where does the manufacturer claim it is rated at 150W at 1% THD? What they say is 0.1% THD at 80% power. But you didn't test this.

It's sad we can't trust any of these chinesium amps and the good chance the "high end" parts aren't actually counterfeit.

The most deceiving look is the profile picture for this video where I thought that was brass or gold and it was neither it was just Chrome.

Hmm.. Sanken transistors are still considered best for audio then? Interesting, i still have Rotel amps made in the late 70s/early 80s that used custom Sanken power ICs, some of the first integrated chip amps.. Not many watts but they do sound rather impressive! My current Rotel though (RA-970BX) driving two pairs of Kef Coda III (8ohm each) seeing a 4ohm load does quite well! (Toroidal transformer, 8 power output transistors rated 60W RMS x2 @ 8ohm, 90W RMS @ 4ohm!) Specs are fairly impressive should you ever look it up, including the schematics, plus these Kef speakers..wide bandwidth near field studio monitors, they sound incredible! Go down below 30Hz, no sub really needed with 4 of them! Haha..pisses the neighbours off nicely!

i like the design but not sure the covers hiding the transformers is to my taste personally. also side bar - glad the zoomed dyno screen has moved on, honestly it was kinda distracting as id always watch the one on the unit. just my 2c, cheers

The two outer “cans” are transformers, the inner two cans are the filter coils tied to the rail caps. Just a guess.

Bad power but beautiful amp. Flexing the Elac bookshelfs.

What i see is the cheap generic 3w green resistor instead of 5w ceramic wirewound resistor near the final capacitor. Wirewound is best resistor for audio, metal film would be next. The green resistor there could be metal oxide(thick film) or carbon film one, its a no. The smaller multiple caps is a way to reduce the price instead one or two set high quality audio. Not an indication of the quality of the amp. For sq i would want a 3 stage gain transistor construction(ab class amp), emi power filter, metal film resistor, mkp/mkm(red or orange rould be nice) capacitor, audio grade elco and audio grade opamp. There should not be a generic parts outside the inverter section. I prefer smaller but numerous elco. Bigger caps just dont do well in the higher freq than their smaller variants.

So this is the Alibaba version not the Stereo Integrity version ? The SI version has upgraded capacitors ( nichicon etc ) & other parts that are in the signal path that this amp doesn’t. Very similar but two different layouts as well. Interesting to see this amp sounds vs the SI one. The ratings can be proven but SQ is always subjective.

I would love to see what a PPI ICE1000.4 does ..... no one on you tube has a Dyno of one I would love to see what I bought.

12:45 if you see it, at the capacitors, the printing is busted, so its fake caps, also the output transistors may be also fakes :D

Does the amp dyno allow for lower distortion ratings for these SQ amp tests? I remember old school amps being rated at something like .04%?

Did you do the thermal image with the acrylic on? Allthough it is see through it will shield most of the heat / infrared. I guess that amp got quite a bit hotter than you measured
