Girl you are awesome! I’ve watched a lot of loom videos to get the info I need and it is often tedious. It’s so enjoyable to watch your video! You are clear, concise, easy to follow and the info is spot on. I’m so glad I found this video it has helped me so much! As stated in other comments telling us to pause and not doing the ff thing is so much easier to follow. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and time with us!

So glad I watched this. The cast on is fantastic and your videos are really good. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow and I like that you tell me to pause, and you don't show either a fast forward version of you completing or an actual time version. I have narcolepsy often waiting for the next step to be explained in other videos I have watched I nod off lol..

The castnoff works for a baby blanket but don't use it for a full size blanket on an S or infinity loom, no matter how loose you keep your loops it ends up too tight. I made a toddler blanket with this and it turnes out fine, made a queen size blanket for my teen and this was too tight even after taking it out, re-attaching the original loops and casting off again 3 different times it just comes off too tight.

Can you explain why you are not using both sides of the loom?
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 10 ай бұрын
That loom can work in multiple ways; loom knitting is also called rake knitting. I’m using 1 rake at a time for a single knit (thinner). However you can use two at a time for a double knit or THICKER fabric... 1. You can work single knit in a flat panel like I’m doing in the video. 2. You can work single knit in-the-round or circular; to get a tube. 3. Or you can work both rakes at the same time for a double knit fabric; pegs can be used in pairs or different patterns of skipping and wrapping pegs to get different stitch patterns. Most knitting we wear in life are single knit and not double; this also goes for blankets and scarves. So knowing how to single knit on looms is a great skill. I hope this helps. Be sure to watch my series on How to Loom Knit. :)

I finished my baby blanket using a 62 peg long loom. It looks great so thank you very much for this video! However, I realize now taking it off the loom that my cast off row is a little bit too tight. Do you have suggestions on how to fix it? Perhaps even a video? It’s off the loom but I have yet to weave in my tail. Help please!
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 3 жыл бұрын
Using Ewraps for knits in bind offs can keep it loose but if that’s not loose enough Nat sure you are not tightening up too much and you move stitches over. You can undo your bind off and place back on the loom to bind off. If your yarn is to short you could back up a row to add yarn in and then make a row and bind off. You’ll just have a few extra tails to weave in but it will be a better finish for you. I’m so glad you enjoy the blanket and tutorial otherwise! 😁 Be sure to tag me on Instagram @goodknitkisses if you take photos.
@charissel.3817
@charissel.3817 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Once I fix this, yes I can tag you. My tail is plenty long enough but I have no idea how to put it back on the loom. I’ve googled it and asked others and I’m still lost. I don’t have any friends who are loom knitters. I was thinking of taking my time and essentially tracing the yarn manually to loosen it. I imagine that will be tedious. Putting it back on the loom definitely seems like the way to go to but clueless as to how to do that. There doesn’t seem to be any information on that.
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 3 жыл бұрын
@@charissel.3817 Try jumping to minute 22:32 in this video link. It shows where I have some stitches on a scrap piece of yarn and put them on the loom. This is what you can do if you undo your bind off slowly and pull out a row. After you pull out the bind off you can use a tapestry or darning needle with a contrasting color of scrap yarn and run it through the loops that aren’t on pegs. These are your live loops. If you have trouble you can pull out the row before going stitch by stitch to put your needle and extra yarn through each loop individually. After you get them all on (and fixed any dropped stitches) you can place back on the loom like in this video here. Remember to jump to minute 22:32 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eKeVrNCQsryYaaM.html

Love the pattern, your videos are very helpful....taught me to knit with needles :) I started the blanket on a loom due to a wrist injury when I couldn't knit. Unfortunately, now that I'm recovered I would rather finish the blanket on needles instead of the loom (the loom is just not my thing). Is there any way that I can transfer it to needles and finish it? I'm 3/4 of the way through so I'd rather not rip it apart...I really need to finish before the baby graduates ;)

Why are the terms different for Loom Knitting? For example, garter stitch is knit every row in needle knitting and stockinette stitch is knit a row, purl a row. I find this confusing.
@GoodKnitKisses
@GoodKnitKisses 5 жыл бұрын
dawn7656 the final knit fabric in “garter stitch” for both needle and loom are the same thing. However needles turn every other row. On a loom it is ALWAYS on the Right Side. But needle worked “in the round” are all right side as well. So to make a garter stitch on needle in the round you have to work a purl every other row to get the garter stitch fabric. A loom just does the same whether a flat panel or in the round. For stockinette a loom only needs to knit all the stitches. To further clarify this please look at knitting charts. The chart symbols reflect what the fabric will look like. To work Wrong Side rows a needle knitted must look at the key and use the opposite stitch or the one spelled out as the wrong side row appropriate stitch. For a loom one simply works whatever is shown on the chart. I hope that helps

On the cast on part (putting the first yarn on the loom) you will put it on all of the pegs. Stop on the last one and turn and work the other way. IF you continue to go in the same direction it will connect the two ends and you end up knitting a circle. And actually it would be a great way to make a cowl or infinity scarf.

@GoodKnitKisses 5 жыл бұрын
Aurora Quinones you cast on all the pegs just like the first several. You can stop wherever you like. I suggested not the last one because you will work back and fort and the visual stop of not having a stitch on a peg helps many people to NOT connect the blanket at the ends there. You don’t need to see the whole thing as it is same stitches over and over. The photo for the baby blanket is in the beginning and on the blog. The blog also has the pattern for you so you have written instructions.

I made this blanket for my unborn baby girl. The bind off sucks! It pulled the top 4 rows so tight it distorted the blanket. Super disappointed 😭

Samantha Gillham you have to be much looser on the stitches as you bind off. The tension is your own in how tight you pull.

Mine did the same thing...I don’t suppose there’s a way to loosen it at this point?

Mine did the same, I was so upset, I ended up having to cut a few stitches and sewing it by hand just to have it loose like the rest of the blanket

The bind off does suck. I made my stitches loose and still made it curl upward. I’m going to try to add a border.
