Hello everyone!
It has been a long, long time since I posted on KZfaq. I'm going to be posting a video on the 1st of every month. I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for the many messages that people have written asking when I will be back. Sorry for not talking as much as I should have, the painting went a bit off course and I had to concentrate and not chat as much!

So glad I’m not the only one who struggles with S&W paper… even the 300gsm feels flimsy and cockles the second you put water on it!

Awesome to see you back on KZfaq! I would go on my walk in the morning, come back and have my coffee and breakfast muffin and watch you paint. Perfect routine.😊I really love this painting!! My favorite color combination. Very exciting and a bit ominous, but promising a beautiful sunrise, perhaps! You’re a master at this! I watch a lot of watercolor artists who try to do what you do. Gorgeous!!

I echo others in noting your frustration with aspects of doing this painting, like the paper, or the foreground color, yet you continue to apply your skills to bring it around to a painting worthy of a frame. Thank you for being honest and brave with your presentation.

So great to see a new video from you Scott! I think this painting is spectacular, very vibrant with gorgeous light and a broody sky. I use Saunders Waterford C P paper frequently and love it but I prefer it on a block, stays nice and flat. I think I’ll give this a try!

Loving this, that you can show that even a great artist like you can struggle with a painting. And it is almost always a thing, that a painting goes through an ugly fase before it turns out good. The yellow ocra saved it really. So nice to have you back on KZfaq. We all have missed you ❤

Hi Lisa, I'm sorry for not replying. I use 6mm and 9mm MDF boards from bunnings to tape my work to. I know in some ways I should use thicker boards but I don't like the weight of them when I am turning them this way and that while spraying etc. Hope that helps.
