That's a brilliant idea. Perhaps soon after the release of Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes there will be a Music video of The Hanging Tree made with mix of Katniss's and Lucy's voices.

*Spoilers for Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes* What I always thought was interesting is how in the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes Lucy Gray writes Hanging Tree and uses it to signal to Coriolanus Snow to flee district 12 with her so they could escape the reach of the Capitol, just for Coriolanus to betray Lucy Gray, and then years later Coriolanus becomes the president and face of the Capitol, and Lucy Gray's song comes back to lead the rebellion ultimately leading to Coriolanus's death.

Actually, Lucy Gray betrayed Coriolanus. Since he slipped up and said that he killed 3 people, Lucy knew he was talking about Sejanus, so she tried to make her escape and tell people of how he killed Mayfair. (I'm sorry, I'm incredibly obsessed with the book, and I literally dug deep)

Surprising how two District 12 girls "beat" him. First Lucy betrays him in Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. 65/66 years later Katniss Everdeen (face of the rebellion who sang Lucy's song) leads to Snow's death (indirectly, but still)

One of the main reasons I'm excited for this movie is the new version of The Hanging Tree we'll hopefully be getting. It's definitely the best song from any film soundtrack, possibly my favorite song period.

Interesting they kept the “necklace of hope” part despite that not being part of the original song. (It was originally necklace of rope but I guess they decided that was kinda a depressing way to lead a rebellion)

My headcannon is that Snow is Katniss's great grandfather. This would play perfectly into the quote of "It's the things we love most that destroy us"

@@HufflepuffBaseball42313 Snow impregnates Lucy Gray at 18, who has a child and this child at some point, goes back to District 12 marries and becomes the parent of Katniss's Father at 26. Katniss's father fathers Katniss when he is 20 and dies when he is 31. Katniss is 16 at the start of the first hunger games book whereas Snow is 82. this theory makes sense as Katniss's father has family outside the district/ potentially came from outside the district. Katniss knows songs sung by Lucy Gray like Down In the Medow and The Hanging Tree who lucy gray wrote. he also knew about the medow and lake and he was a good hunter, he is a good hunter because he potentially survived out in the wilds.

Lucy Gary's voice in the hanging tree is low but Jennifer's voice in the hanging tree is the highest I'm hearting drums and there is no druming in this song only the piano the ballad songbirds and snakes movie is not action like catching fire and Mockingjay is not far like no fucking way I wish Jennifer was in the movie but she was not and I don't like it at all
