Lord Cameron makes debut speech in House of Lords

Lord Cameron made a shock return to government having been made foreign secretary after the prime minister refreshed his cabinet last week.

He promised a referendum (as the Lib Dem’s also did by the way), he delivered the referendum, he led the remain side and was defeated. It would have been impossible for him to remain in office at that stage. He was due to stay on for several months more but as Theresa May’s rivals fell away, that deadline was rapidly brought forward.

I know he brought Brexit to us but he has an aura of competence. Rishi Sunak should be worried, Lord Cameron is still very PM in his way. If he runs for leadership snd for PM I will vote for him.

@@nadrini300 wrongAlex Douglas-Home in 1963 became PM from the House of Lords. Quickly renounced his peerage and took a seat in the House of Commons.
