In this episode of Tarikh, Harshita discusses how the British Government annexed Awadh State of Wajid Ali Shah in the British Empire on February 7, 1856.
Wajid Ali Shah was the last Nawab of Awadh.
He was a man of recreations. He used to write poetry, and was fond of music and dance.
Before Wajid Ali Shah the british had already acquired half of the empire of Awadh State.
When Wajid Ali came to the throne the state was in very bad condition.
This was the time of Lord Dalhousie. He wanted to acquire Awadh completely,
What did he do for that? How the Nawabs of Awadh fell prey to the birtish strategy?
What happened after the revolt in Awadh on 1857?

बेगम हजरत महल कि कब्र काठमान्डू कि रत्न पार्क इलाके मे एक मस्जिद है वहि पर उनका कब्र है । लाखौं सलाम एक बहादुर महिला कि जिसने अपने वतन के सामने किसि के सामने भि अपना सर निछे नहि किया । अंगेजो से लड्नेवाली बेगम हजरत महल को लाखौं सलाम ।

उस दौर के अवध की सही तस्वीर फ़िल्म 'शतरंज के खिलाड़ी ' में सत्यजीत रे बिल्कुल सटीक अंदाज़ में प्रस्तुत किया है ,,जो असल मे प्रेमचन्द की एक कहानी पर आधारित थी

शतरंज के खिलाडी में भी नवाब वाजिद अली शाह के कैरेक्टर को गलत बताया गया था। क्योंकि फिल्म बनाने वाला शिया मुसलमान था और नवाब वाजिद अली शाह के साथ गद्दारी करने वाला उनका मंत्री "मीर तकी अली मीर" शिया था जिसने अंग्रेज़ो से मिलकर गद्दारी करी थी।

What you presented was the British version of Nawab's life. He never had 300 wives. The British did the character assassination of the Nawab's to do what they did... Take control of Awadh.

जूती पहनाने वाला न होने के कारण मृत्यु का भय होने के बावजूद न भागना मानव मनोविज्ञान के किसी आयाम के सापेक्ष युक्तयुक्त प्रतीत नहीं होता , परन्तु कहावतों से लेकर कई स्रोतों से ऐसी जानकारी मिली जिससे मैं व्यक्तिगत तौर कभीं भी सहमत नहीं हो सका परन्तु जिनका अध्ययन है उनके स्रोत भी होंगे

Proper research should have been done. Tarikh should also act as a historical facts checker. Including facts that have nothing to do with reality is harmful. The story of the shoe was previously busted by Himanshu Ji on this same platform and then repetition of the same misinformation from the same platform is not ideal.
