I agree, the first 2 ages and the creation of EA are these crazy info packed stories, however I feel that the Hobbit and LOTR books are more personable and have this connection amongst characters throughout which makes people relate to them more. The only major story most can agree on out of the first 2 ages that come close to that sort of connection is the Beren and Luthien ark. To me, that’s an even better love story than Romeo and Juliet lol.

I have a feeling it’s going to please and pander towards people who get offended with everything rather than staying true to Tolkien’s writings which is extremely heartbreaking to fans like us. Zansi Men are not tied to the fate of Arda in the same way as the elves and dwarves. They do not fade away as time goes by and they can actually create new things, it’s also stated that when Men die, they spend a small amount of time in the Halls of Mandos before leaving Arda (possibly to the Timeless Halls)

Imagine being immortal yourself. Having lived thru countless population mouvement, people dying all around you from war, fires, absolute shitty lives, insane suffering/greed/torture, heart breaks (watch 1st age) you would be a little scarred at one point. Thats the point. Would you like to have lived next to freaking melkor who would deform you to look like an orc, make everything around you rotten and forcing you to literally hide yourself due to helplessness and hopelessness forever as everything around you are getting perverted by massive disgusting beasts. Why do you think so many elves left middle earth all the time. Its too much. The elves of Aman werent loving every second of their lives either. They are being ruled into constant status quo and unending boredom. But Aman is at least timeless and undying like them while middle earth is death and everchanging. Not only you have to live thousands of years of trauma with little to look forward to, knowing endless strife can come from kin and dark lords, but you are literally connected to the earth's trauma and corruption. Men dont have these elvish gift but its like anything in real life, being famous and rich and beautiful doesnt equal happiness at all. Thats why most of them are deeply depressive, have tons of therapists and even commit suicide. Being a men means you can have a sense of purpose, not live thru and with all these insanities forevever to eventually "rest". Id rather be a mortal tbh. Id be tired and bored eventually of it all.

Where did you hear that they’re only taking 2 pages from the appendices? All I was able to find was they can’t take anything from the Simarillion based on The agreement Amazon made with the Tolkien estate/properties, etc.

He wore the ring the whole time, even after he died. The Ring was invisible so no one could see it and also the ring wanted to be with Sauron, so it wasn't really calling out for people to claim it.

@@caiodecastro7956 the writers changed a lot of Galadriels story and her character, they changed a lot of the happenings of the first age, they have characters in the wrong places/times, Elrond's character is messed up, and a lot of other blanket issues like them forgetting that elves have incredible eyesight. If you're a casual viewer who doesn't know or care about Tolkien's lore, then watch the show. The writing and acting are both pretty bad for the most part, but it's still a fantasy story and most of the visual effects are fantastic. If you care about the lore, don't watch the show
