+Martin Szoke Its Pro-Religion in the way its Anti-Organized Religion. As it was mentioned in the movie All Religions have it partially right. Which means all are partially wrong. If you are going to believe in God or ANY God don't be so hung up on your individual Churches teachings. As man in Gods infinite wisdom is infinitely fallible. Meaning no one man or woman will EVER truly know what God wants from us. Which leads to another point Its better to have an idea than a belief. As Beliefs are largely inflexible and once learned and driven in is very hard to change. While an idea is more flexible and it is easier to accept another persons views. Which also relates to the main plot to begin with. With the Catholic belief that upon passing through the doors of a Church during its dedication that any and all sins are wiped clean and they are pure again. Meaning they can go to straight to Heaven almost entirely destroyed reality as we know it, by proving that God is capable of mistakes (when S/He should be incapable of any). The movie is kind of saying stop and take a look around. Study Religion find what you choose, what you feel to be right and go with it. Considering all organized Religions are at least partially full of shit. Or at least that's how i take it

Those are the kind of people who protested The Golden Compass. This kind of reminds me of when a porn shop opened near my town and every church in the county came out to protest (they alternated, I swear to God). I was afraid to go in because I was scared I'd see people from my church protesting. You get more of a turnout in the Bible Belt than in Jersey, I guess.

But the thing is, on the actual news report, it did not say Brian Johnson, and he did not have sparklies or anything on his poster. The camera only showed the 'Dogma' part at the top of his poster. The only thing that he says is shown is 'I don't think it stands for anything positive. From what these people tell me, it doesn't stand for anything good.'

This guy is our generations Clint Eastwood.. and I've loved all of their movies, except for Jersey Girl. Jennifer Hopeless ruined that movie for me.. but I understand why he made it and I respected him for it. I can't wait for his first thriller/horror.. It's gonna be kick-ass like all the others. =)

I guess what im saying to those that love or hate (Schwarznasen) is that its different for everyone. You can try to make someone see it the way "you" do but maybe they never could. Their experiences and genetics make can make it a completely different experience. Film can be a powerful medium (ex. Triumph of the Will) but it is becoming older and more common. People don't believe everything they see on screen anymore. Shouldn't the warning at the beginning let them know not to start...

Not everybody has a problem with kids hearing or even using those words. Respect isn't just about the words used but the intention behind them. If some kid here would casually use such words it wouldn't bother me. If they started to use them to be disrespectful that would be another story. And the same would go for using more accepted words in a disrespectful manner.

...and as another FACT, my family is Catholic. I've gone to a Catholic hospital my entire life. When my grandmother died of cancer, they extremely impersonally and rude about the entire experience. The priest felt put out that he had to come up and give her last rights. Her funeral was propaganda for why you should be catholic, not an ode to her life, which was amazing; but largely ignored by the church (though she never missed a service in 75 years). So I know what I'm talking about.

i think it's hillarious that Kevin Smith is an avid churchgoer, who created all these movies. It's not anti-Catholic. It's a modern day "Gulliver's Travels" but instead of a satire on England, it pokes fun at all the problems in the Catholic Church. Like Dante's "Divine Comedy" if you will, only in a much cruder sense. All you bashing Catholics need to relax. I am a practicing Catholic who goes to church every sunday and attends Catholic school and I find this movie hillarious.
