That's one of the drawbacks of an open hand. You can't stop others from walking into the shop and grabbing a card you would prefer to keep. At most you can hike up the price to make it costly for them. I like getting paid though, and people pay when you got good cards and services to sell. The Riverfolk are a big talking faction, you got to sell your stuff on people. Something you can't really do with the chat system here.

@@SusCalvin I learned to be opportunistic yesterday in my RF game. It was lizard, otter,VB & cats and the cat player immediately started complaining about him being the only player with buildings and was worried about sanctification from lizards. So I offered to help manage the outcast suit by milling the deck. After fulfilling my obligations to cats (2 turns, 2 card purchases for 3) I offered on the next turn to craft a card that would turn outcast to hated for the lizards if they bought a card off of me the following turn for (2). The cats interjected and said they would buy for 3. Those were the only 3 sales I made the whole game (I won)

Hey man! Big fan of your Root strategies. One thing I always asked myself is How the Hell are you supposed to win against the Lizard Cult, using the Mole Duchy?

Maybe try a smol mole strategy? Essentially just don’t build buildings and just sway ministers that build up your action economy - brigadier and such. Then spend your turns recruiting 2 moles per turn. You can pick up points just destroying tokens and swaying. Near the end you can make some buildings and craft some final points to win if you need :)

The expansion should only need to be bought 1 time if you use the same account on mobile and pc :)

When you have a trade post - it doesn’t matter if it has been removed off the board.

Some factions can! mostly the factions with higher reach. Like Marquise, Duchy, and Eyrie. the new rats and badgers will be too!

Great question. I would say earlier in the game just to build trust with certain factions. If you get 2 sales then you have made profit. The most important thing is that if you set it at 2 you get 2 funds if you gained zero that round anyways. Which is why I never set to 1 - you just lose money.

Also, I like how you set your price for cards to 4 at the end of the game to protect a card. As another faction, is it ever a good idea to buy at 4 or should I treat it as the Otters essentially saying 'The shop is closed!' haha

How important are the trade posts? I see that the birds knock one out as soon as its built. What does the otters lose besides having to rebuild the thing? Is it worth keeping little garrisons of trade post guards around to deter people from rolling over defenceless trade posts?

Not usually worth keeping guard of them. But you want to watch for Despot bird leader getting the double points.

@@SusCalvin half your funds rounded up. But I never go for a funds strat. I just use all of them - mostly because this strategy you see here is more reliable. And a lot quicker. :)

@@LordoftheBoard Maybe it's easier for people to catch on and conspire against you when they can do table talk diplomacy. They can decide to have a massive boycott of otter products and services. Here people just bought cards unquestioningly. When you have people face to face you can be a more active salesotter and point out where a river ride could put them or learn which hotspots could use some otter mercs. You can negotiate costs, like how much they think a boat ride is worth.

The trade posts don’t need to be on the board for you to use them. As long as they have been placed they can be used. :)

Bruh you're doing my head in asking over and over "who's stealing my cards" when you're the riverfolk trader. People are buying your cards, that's what you do xD. And then you said its because your trading posts are being destroyed, but losing trading posts doesn't strip cards from your hand, just half your funds

Appreciate the video and the strat though, I’m new to ROOT but the river folk are my favourite faction.
