The Men of Gold
Raúl Adriazola, a miner from Inca de Oro, an area located inland of Copiapó, is one of the last representatives of a social group in the process of extinction: the gold panners. Economic and productive changes in gold mining have made this small-scale mining unprofitable. Through Raúl and the memories of an old miner, José Araya, the story of Inca de Oro emerges, a nearly ghost town that half a century ago was so wealthy that it deserved the title of the Chilean California.
