I was told the meat taste better if you bleed them first? I love watching your videos which is why I'm subscribed. This one was a little bit hard to watch. Their brains are so crappy they keep moving after they're dead. Just nerves firing off. Same with any kind of reptile even after you remove the head it will continue moving for quite some time. Chickens too. Hell everything but reptiles definitely do it for a long time and occasionally fish

@@playtime6909 I can tell you that I have filleted yellow perch that have been frozen and dead for 3-5 hours and they do the same thing! Unless you have experienced it, you should have no comment! Deer, cows, pigs etc show The same muscle spasms for a Certain amount of time after death.. I can only assume the same would happen to a human under certain circumstances during an autopsy

Look carefully at the gills, it's trying to breath throughout. Air breathers like gars and snakeheads etc don't die just because they are out of water, it takes hours. It's human decency to spike the brain for such an animal before processing it. There are excellent videos of how the Japanese do it.

It's an extremely tough creature. He probably "dispatched" it but many people don't realize or know how tough they are. They can move/breath for hours in ice after "dispatching". Tough nervous system!

The gar was definitely still alive. Hence why so much blood came during the skinning process. You won't see that much blood if the heart isn't beating.

@@saqui2323 he’s cleaned gar that he’s killed prior to the video starting. Killing the fish would not be a problem if you do it right before you fillet. Definitely upsetting when they dont put it out it’s misery first.

Not alive. Fish do this all the time. Their electrical impulses are still firing, sometimes hours after they have died. Pan fish and tuna do it the most.
