I've been painting Warhammer for years now and tried several times to get my son into it. We visited Forbidden Planet in Newcastle the weekend and he clocked the Gundam kits and made a bee line to on of them for £20. He built it himself that night and I must admit the assembly of the kits is amazing and I was blown away by how much movement the model has. Defiantly buying more in the future to hopefully keep this fire lit in my son. FYI you should look into the Game of Thrones table top game, they have lovely models. Big love

So, I was a Gundam builder before I got into Warhammer, and I loved building the kits, so going into Warhammer using the knowledge I have from Gundam building has taught me so much more. Especially with painting my Warhammer models

Same to be honest, ive built gundams since the 90's. None of my friends knew jack about WH or anything about some british company. So Gundam models, it was. Fastfoward 25 years. im deep in both hobbies...

I was also there at the premier, and it certainly was a fantastic experience! This movie serves as a perfect conclusion to the Cosmic Era. I hope this film does well at UK box office and spreads more awareness on this great franchise!

Such a great crossover! I started my hobby journey with Gunpla, namely the Wing Zero RG like Kieran and loved it. After a discussion with some mates about 3D printing for parts, that opened us up to WH and its been all encompassing for the last few years. Great to see you lads dipping the toes in! WHOA!! You guys are in my expertise now! Iv seen lots of miniature hobby content creators in tha past few years try out gunpla for the first time and vice versa like I did. Both hobbies have a lot to offer and theres many things that can be learned from the Gunpla community that many, like myself, have incorporated into the miniature hobby. Companies like Tamiya and Mr Hobby, both other Japanese hobby brands can teach you some new tips and tricks with their tools for the miniature hobby. Iv been building and painting gunpla since like 2008, and before that is was Zoids back when that was popular for a time on Toonami. Its nice to see youy guys expand a bit and take a risk on an entirely different plastic crack hobby haha

Yeah there are so many skills that are transferable! I just wish GW would learn the value of the under gate 😂

@@the_kieran_show lol well thats there own fault for making such complex pieces and sprues to avoid copycats. I guess bandai doesnt care if someone copies their sprues as there products arent obsurdly priced and its Bandai, a very large household name in merchandise. It might be a technique GW incorporate someday if they can figure a way around their unique way of making their peices

Do not underestimate that SD Knight Strike Gundam (the free one the organiser gave us). SD kits are cheap but has a lot of detail. While they do give you a lot of stickers to complete the detail, they are much better painted. Being Warhammer builder, I am sure you guys can do it justice. I personally love smaller scale and SD kits, and is always a shame the SD kits are not popular outside of Asia market. the "Cute but Cool" aesthetic unfortunately do not go well in the Western Market.

The SD kits are pretty cool I think, but I can see why they aren’t as popular, definitely more “toy” looking than the other kits

Yeah, I have several of these I've built. I find them a refreshing palate cleanser for hobbying when you just can't be bothered with glue or paint and just want to feel you've accomplished something. I don't know anything about the IP though and never seen any of the shows.

I'm still amazed about hearing how bad a 4 hour trip is over seas. I can pick a spot where i live and never cross the state border in 4 hours. Hell my daily commute to work is 60miles one way.

I was into gunpla when I was in my teens and have just recently gotten back into it by using my old kits to make tau proxies. The kits are so well engineered and easy to put together, not to mention vastly cheaper than gw plastic. Combining the two hobbies together has been so much fun getting to paint, weather and make bases for such well designed jits is a blast

I recently picked up my first gundam kit. I've been looking at them for years whilst doing Warhammer and finally bit the bullet. Really looking forward to seeing how the kits differ.

getting into 40k gave me the push to start painting my gunpla too after sticking to just straight out of box builds for over a year. lots of skills shared and new things to learn between the hobbies. keep it up lads

Enjoyed this video, and funny, after doing Warhammer for about a decade, I decided to try Gunpla just last week. Already on my second kit (Rising Freedom)…and already have a few more 😂

Wow, this was a really nice video! I'm happy to see you had a great time and are interested in Gundam/Gunpla going forward. I used to get *alot* of Gunpla kits when I was in high school, and despite being several years removed from Gunpla when I got into Warhammer, it made the initial idea of building the models less daunting once I learned there were enough similarities to building a Gunpla kit.

Did you guys ever get into zoids kits and would you ever try them? They are essentially giant robot animals rather than the humanoid mechs of gundam

YESSSSS! Zoids were so cool, I (right Kieran) had both the motorised Lion and Tiger when I was a kid. They were so fun

I've also fallen for the big robots recently and I can't get enough of them! My favourite part of the original and Zeta shows is all the slaps, pure comedy :D PS. If you get Tau in Herohammer Challenge, you need to paint a Gundam, you just gotta.

I wonder who advised you on which kits to start with, because those boxes just seem like the wrong place to start. Just like in warhammer there are iffy kits, old ones, or others that are too hard for newbies, the same happens in gunpla.... and basically every kit behind you has things against it for one reason or another. Everyone's first kit should be from the Witch of Mercury HG series. One of the Aerial. Cheap, relatively easy to build, assembles well, and is beautiful. Those HG kits are much, much better than old HGs, and even many old RG kits.

So the kits behind of right hand Kieran's and he's built some already so should be fine (some were also gifted by Bandai at the event) Left Kieran's first was the RX78-2 promo kit which was really easy to put together for a newbie

The kit Kieran made was probably a event specific entry grade one step up from haropla and petit guys TWFM kits are a breeze to make the pinnacle of gunpla technology after 40 years

G Gundam beats all others. That said, Zoids will always be superior to Gundam. Why settle for man with sword when the robot could instead be a dinosaur or lion with guns on it?

First thing YOU'LL LOVE building the PG unleashed grandaddy ( had mine since it was released 😁) , second if you love seed get the MG EXTREME strike freedom and the MG SD freedom, heck like Pokémon get em all 😁 im running outta space due to my gunpla addiction ( been building since the first kits came out in 1980 ( actual honest model kits needing glue paint everything) A gunpla event i missed in the uk 😭😭😭😭😭😭 lucky sods at least I've seen the actual statues in Tokyo I'll have to find out if my local cinema will be showing the film 🙏🙏🙏🙏 on that note SIEG ZEON and RAGE ON GUNPLA

@@the_kieran_show Ive got both the PG unicorn and banshee norn ( I need the expansion pack and led set though) along with the full armour set ( I'm a glutton for killing shelf space 🤭 ) the moving gundam at G-dock Yokohama is almost a dream come true ,if only we can get the independent power source solved 😉 then its MINE 🤫the ultimate new types collection piece , one kit for the list "if you have a massive empty space and wallet " is the dendrobium 97 cm long of beauty and wider than the nightingale
