I can totally relate to handing Dad the screwdriver LOL I was the dedicated "flashlight holder" for all the jobs around the house. If he had to fix something... he was already not happy. It taught me a lot though... Like... When to keep your mouth shut when someone is not happy and needs to vent. What angle you need to bounce a flashlight beam to see behind a tight corner. How to hold still for a long time as a crazy kid. I learned to do carpentry, electrical, auto, repairs, and fabrications, every fix we did. Now as an adult, I built my own house, I fix all my own cars.. And it's all thanks to being forced to hold a flashlight for my dad :p Dads are great even when they're mad :)

I remember my Mom telling me about my gran grandad. When my Grand granma started to complain about something, and was starting to nag him when they where getting ready for dinner. He would not utter a word, he would simply get up, take his vest and hat, and leave the house. He would spend the night at the bar, playing cards and drinking with the others guys. Then come home the next day, if she started asking questions and nagging, he would just turn heels, and be back again at the bar. Each and everytime, she did that, he did this. Until she stopped doing it, off course she wans't happy, but sometimes she would not see him for the whole week, and she got tired of it, so she gave up. She never was suspicious of him cheating or anything mind you, my Grand grandad was extremly faithfull, he was a charmer and a gentleman even somewhat flirty, but he never did anything inapropriate and always stayed faithfull to his wife, cause he loved her more than anything. And they where married for over 65years without my grand grandad ever raising his voice or raising his hands on my gran grandma, he justn took his vest, his hat and left the House waiting for her to calm down.

My dad would get wound up like sometimes, but never in a dramatic way like that. Not sure my parents really ever argued in front of us. My mom told us they used to get into it sometimes, but only in the bedroom where we couldn't see. My dad was old school, a Marine, and it was his way, but generations were different back in those days.

Doesn’t take a psych course to see where all the anger comes from. Bill laid it out for you. He has a dad who had a bad temper and anger begets anger. Passes down from parent to child. My mom had a temper and she was a great lady but scary when she got angry. She spanked us when she had let the anger for our disobedience build up in her and then by the time she dealt with it she was really, really angry. Scared the crap out of me when I was really little. It got better as we got older and she became one of my best friends. She did the best she could with the knowledge she had, which wasn’t much. When I became a wife and mother I had to deal with this rage that seemed to come out of nowhere. I got help fortunately ❤️❤️

I am so glad my only son looks exactly like me and looks nothing like his mother. He's 20 now and has his mother's bitchy tendencies, using semantics to try to get over on me. I shut that shit down every time. It never works in his favor. I taught him to use reason and logic instead of arguing with his feelings. That's how you mold a man.

Bill Burr's stories about his childhood seem like mine, only on steroids; because I'm an only child. I love my parents to this day; don't get me wrong. But this stuff from Bill Burr is abso-frickin'-lutely hilarious to me. Comedy is a great eustresser; it can serve to heal quite a bit of one's distress in one's life, via the agency of honest laughter. It is a great blessing, because you can relax and be human and part of a loving family, as you laugh so hard that your sides start hurting and you start wondering if it's possible for someone actually to laugh himself to death, just like the weasels did in 1988's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". Sometimes, though, I've laughed so hard to Bill Burr's comedy, especially watching "F is for Family", that I've had trouble resuming breathing. If you ever happen to binge-watch "F is for Family", wherein Bill Burr voices Frank Murphy, I would highly recommend it - especially Seasons 3 and 4. But make sure you're with someone who can help you should you happen to laugh yourself to near-asphyxiation. Either that, or position yourself close to an ER. I watched all 4 seasons of "F is for Family", over a period of, like, two weeks [a fortnight] or so; absolutely worth it, IMHO. Anyhoo, thanks for your reaction videos. Stay safe out there, my sisters in Adam; it looks like the first step out there in the next Pandemic Orbital Cycle might very well be a doozy. Hehehe. Godspeed, and God Bless.

I can certainly relate to this. Don't try to put me next to some furniture that needs assembling because 15 to 20 minutes into doing that i freak out if i can't find the next piece i need or something breaks. And the best thing to do at that point is just to stay the hell away from me. Don't talk to me and don't try to help me. But compared to bill Burr i would not smash it but just leave it for a while, play some first person shooters on the computer and then come back and try again.

Ah yeah totally relate, my Irish & Scottish family was like this when I was growing up, on the west coast of US one generation after a few on the east coast. The Irish Celts & the Clans of Scotland were proud, brave, poetic, feisty, fun-loving, daring, and wild-natured people who were attacked, enslaved (Irish), and over several hundred years eventually oppressed by the English. After the Clans of Scotland were subjugated, England colonized north america, put out advertisements of "free land" to any subject willing to get on a boat and go live there, and many Scots left to claim Nova Scotia (1700s). Irish were coming to Boston mostly, especially during the potato famine (1800s). Abuse by oppressors often becomes carried into families because they are being treated so and are trapped. A lot of people with no alternatives had to emigrate, along with those more prone to risk-taking or more adventurous in spirit. Most of us hot-heads here now came from those folks back then! Edit: Funny stories are endless but most of all from family holiday gatherings devolving into "fighting games" grounded in unconscious anger -- fun but scary because they were serious, really -- like adults getting into food fights, one time it was a water fight and it kept escalating until one started filling a bucket in the sink so the other brought the hose into the house, and somehow we always wound up played the game 'spoons' and it was vicious like if no one got gouged or wrestled to the floor it wasn't really spoons HAHAHAHA! Good times :) Thanks KJ & Mom ~ y'all are fantastic!

The older generations, our grandparents and great grandparents so on, were like this. Not all of them but a lot of them. They group in a time where it was still expected of a man and woman to get married at a certain age and immediately start having kids even if the financial situation was ideal or not. I was born in 1982, we were still under that umbrella but wasn't as extreme. I personally think people need to start out as friends first. Date if they want to, break up, have some time apart then date again. Get to know each other, yes have sex and be smart about it. Let a few years go by with just dating and smart sex. Then if the feelings are strong and you both know you are meant for each other despite other people then get married.

So, very few will ever get married then? No matter how much you like a person, there will always be something you will dislike or consider weird about them or even hate, but you love the rest. It will never be 100%, maybe 80% - 90%, and that's fine, if there are people who love each other 100%, no matter what then they are rare. As long as people respect each other and communicate to resolve their needs and desires and don't let difference of opinion or small conflicts escalate and resolve them like adults without getting unnecessarily angry or to a point where things get physical, everything should be fine, that % may even rise in time.

I can not really relate to the way he seems to be overreacting to things, but I can absolutely relate to the problem of listening to what women are saying. I used to make many mistakes when it came to understanding what is the essential message to the woman. It can feel almost impossible to comprehend when you are tired or stressed, and you only have energy for your own perspective. Over time I have gotten more experience, and find womens perspectives quite enriching and clearifying, especially when it comes to social topics, but I have to be well rested to have the energy to follow. On a sidenote, learning to know women has given me perspectives enough to understand better how transsexuals actually know what they are, and my conviction that the relation between men and women has to be balanced and respectful for things to work out well, both in the personal and the public. Hmmmm.... a song by Alicia Keys just popped into my head...and as a man I am really attracted to fact that she dares to go without makeup most of the time.... ok, enough about my free assosiations...

I thought I had a temper until I started dating a woman of color, she put me in my place real quick! She was 4' nothing and would stand on the toilet so she could look into my eyes when she was trying to make a point. Now I am one that blows my cork....A lot of loud yelling (bark is WAY worse than my bite (I don't have a bite really)) but then I am done and it's over with and I can get back to life.......or so I thought! One of our first arguments as a couple I done my thing and just BLAH...BLAH....BLAH....BLAH.... when I was done I thought it was over because she really had nothing to say. The next morning I wake up with her over my face staring at me and as soon as I blinked she started talking....I told her I can't even understand anything she is saying right now I just woke up and I thought we discussed this last night. She was like "No, you discussed it last night now it's my turn!" Needless to say it didn't work out good for me. With that said, she was a wonderful lady, a great companion, and a loyal friend. While we broke up many years ago we still keep in contact and value each others company and advice. I know that I can ask her ANYTHING and she will give me an honest answer, sometimes brutal. It is never mean spirited, just said out of concern. I do the same with her. It is wonderful to have cherished friends especially these days of such social angst. Love your reactions ladies.....look forward to more!

@@lawrenceholohan8812 Yes, I knew that. I've just never seen someone referred to as "this guy" if a person is a fan of a comedian. You must not be a fan of Burrs which makes me wonder why you watched the video in the first place. And to say Burr wasnt funny in that clip makes me wonder what you think is funny
