Another thing about the axe: If Locke was able to get a suitcase full of hunting knives by simply register them and store it in the luggage compartment, surely it’s possible that someone also had an axe in his belongings..... just sayin 🤷‍♂️

@@edgymoji8260 Why would a fireman need an axe in a fire? Axes are often used as rescue equipment. If a door gets locked or jammed or a piece of equipment needs to be separated from something. It is a helpful rescue tool when needed.

True, I work on the trains, they also have axes, a sledge hammer and other equipment like rope, etc behind a panel near the first aid supplies.

I've only been at the scared-for-my-life kinda afraid once in my life. I was in a weird awake-but-dreaming state and hallucinated some large creature at the foot of my bed, went from flat on my back under the covers to on my feet throwing a punch before I even fully woke up, so fight is definitely a possibility here as well. Actually pulled muscles in my shoulder and torso doing it, 100% a fear response and not something I'd be capable of choosing to do in the moment.

I love the fact that Charlie says he’s terrified of bees but in real life Dominic Monaghan loves bees and all insects, he is VERY knowledgeable, he had a nature show and he knew everything, he did an entire episode about bees.

I'm not going to mention the moment or the video that inspired me to add this comment, but I gotta say: following these reactions I'm REALLY impressed by Eric's poker face. Every now and then Rick makes some prescient comments and I'll go "oooo" but Eric doesn't react or comment on it at all. Not only impressive, but also admirable for not spoiling anything for Rick.

Your comment "That's a handsome man" made me laugh a little. Back during the original run of Lost I used to go immediately to recap sites as soon as new recaps were posted. They had a running commentary of how Sun and Jin were the two most beautiful people in the world.

I think the point Sawyer was making about people being on the beach is that the smoke from a large fire can be seen from miles away,. The wreckage can only be seen if a plane was flying practically right over the island.

I thought the whole Jin, Sun, Fathers and jobs reveal was still yet to come and wouldn’t need explaining but this is a pared down version of the episode so maybe I’m missing some details, like them mentioning Jin’s previous job. I can see that Eric is stuck between wanting to talk to us big picture as he’s filling Rick in on the small details; sometimes not realizing the hand he’s tipping by his over excitement (maybe he went to pick up the watch in Australia, why would you even throw that possibility in there at this point?). Not saying it’s a bad thing because everyone’s theories have a tendency to shift as more information is given. But yeah, he could have just said… That’s Jin, I’ve already said his name 12 times accidentally.

First I want to say that I absolutely love that you guys are watching Lost. One of my all time favourite shows. But you should really try to do 2 episodes a week. I know you have a tight schedule but if you continue with 1 episode a week it will take you a year to just finish Season 1+2.

"Where'd the axe come from?" - That question has come up before on another reaction channel. If I remember the discussion, an axe wouldn't normally be on a plane so...there must have been a passenger who was an international axe salesman. [VERY MINOR SPOILER...and the axe salesman also sold hand saws...] Now, thanks to Eric looking it up, it seems there should be an axe in the cockpit...BUT Jack, Kate and Charlie ran screaming from the cockpit when the monster was chasing them and I'm pretty sure none of them said "Hey, should I bring this axe? It might be useful." The mystery continues...

I think I always assumed that it came from Locke’s Walkabout case, next to the hunting knives and survivalist gear. I can also think of several reasons for a hatchet or an axe to be on a plane in case of emergency landings; in fact I’m almost positive that I’ve seen a movie where a passenger tries to get into the cockpit with a red emergency axe to hijack the plane. So either of those 2 options is plausible and I’m fine with that. 🪓

One "survival thing" that I thought of recently was I'd probably salvage life vests and floating seat cushions from the plane. If there were enough, they could be tied together to make a raft or at least if anyone were to venture out in a raft s/he could wear a life vest.

I always find it weird when people say "drugs" when they mean normal things like medicine. Here, or at least with everyone I know, "drugs" implies the illegal kind. It's just like a dirty word in a way, it comes with negative connotations. I can't imagine asking anyone if they "have any drugs" or asking someone to go "buy some drugs". It would be really awkward. I know in America they say "drug store" so it probably sounds more common, but still.

I'm not sure if Jin was working for Sun's father at the beginning of the episode. I always assumed he was working just as a typical waiter.

I think it's hard to tell whether or not he was working for him. We know he was a waiter a party Sun's father was hosting. I think he and the rest of the wait staff were hired by Sun's father, but I don't think Jin was actually working *for* Sun's father in the latter's company. Maybe Jin decided to apply for a job in the company go be close to Sun sometime after this party. But I think you're right.

I was traumatized by bees when I was four or five years old. An entire swarm of them came after me, and I wasn’t even the one who angered them. I’ve also been stung by wasps on a few different occasions and had a really stupid friend of mine anger a very large nest of bees when I was a teenager, so I personally completely get Charlie’s irrational fear, though I also understand why Lock was trying to get him to relax and not be worried.

I should be finished with the show next week. On season 6 episode 7. I’ve loved the character progression of everyone it’s probably been my favorite thing about this show. Alongside all of Sawyer’s bromances and the beauty of Sayid’s hair growth.

@@qwertymanor I’m not sure if they actually all **** but there have been throwaway lines every now and again that suggest it. I’m not sure how exactly that would be pulled off but I’m keeping an open mind although I’ve heard so much about how people dislike the ending. I did get spoiled on one character death that’s coming up but other than that I’m just hoping the rest of my favorite characters find happiness

@@akaJXG yes some people disliked the ending, but know some people also thought it was incredible. it's still the best finale i've ever seen. i think anyone who truly loved and understood the show should like the finale at least somewhat. enjoy the end!

When I started watching Lost on Disney+, the Korean's language didn't get subtitled. I was in S2, I think, when they suddenly did get subtitled. It did make it interesting and made me want to look up what they said online. (I'm at s3 rn)

I wish you would leave the "GD"'s out of your dialog..... it is not only unnecessary it is offensive to those that believe in God! It always amazes me how channels want and beg for more subs, but then are easy to offend the largest religion in the world.... you know, approx. 2.7 billion people! That's not including the other religions saying also offends! I always give channels three strikes and you are out. If you say "GD" three times in an episode I immediately turn the episode off, leave a comment about it and give it a thumbs down. That happens in three different videos and I stop watching the channel altogether. That would be a shame because I am enjoying watching this series too. This episode came real close to being "strike one".
