When Jack looks at him and states his opinion about everything being an experiment... The look Desmond gives him.... That wide-eyed , traumatized look. "Every. Single. Day.... And for all our sakes I hope it's not real ; but the film said this is an ELECTROMAGNETIC Station ; and I dunno about you brother, but whenever I walk past that brick wall out there , my fillings hurt". That is honestly terrifying and one of Desmond's best moments.

The mysteries in Season 2 were so insanely awesome. I remember actually debating in my head whether the button actually did anything or not. I kept thinking "okay, no way a random computer in the jungle could possibly be that important" but dang they set it up so well. Season 3 on the other hand....

Well perhaps an Amstrad computer would have been better as several models did draw power from the monitor as that's where the PSU was.

Can someone remind me if they mentioned how Desmond was sleeping if he (by himself) has to push it every 108 minutes. He wouldn't have been getting even close to a full night's sleep and would have gone literally insane very quickly.

One of the later episodes shows Desmond getting into a fight with his shift mate, killing him... delaying the button press which crashes the original plane. Desmond had been doing the job by himself for a month and a half at this point by which time he's understandably a bit "on edge".

@@paulpesci1 so interestingly it is actually possible to have a functioning sleep schedule like this where you're up for the vast majority of the day but only take short naps throughout. Some guys in the military do this

@@perrybb2 it's definitely doable, I work on the railroad and I seen engineers sleep and when the dead man switch alarm goes off they push it and nod off again, at the same time blowing the whistle on cue without ever knowing it, being that they ran the territory so many times they know it by heart, in fact there is an accident where both train crew members died from rear ending another train and it was determined that both crew members were asleep yet functioned enough to keep the train moving, but failed to see the red signals that warned them of the stalled train

Microsleeps Used by many sailing alone. There you can't afford to sleep more than 15 or so mins so you train yourself to have microsleeps

When Desmond accidentally killed Kelvin and didn’t push the button in time he saw metal objects flying around the station and the whole place shaking. He knows it isn’t fake, so really they messed up with the writing here.

Yeah, I was always confused why he never explained what happened last time he didn't press the button. Seems very obvious that it's more than just a psychology experiment

No, it wasn't enough to fully convince him till he saw the logs from the other station that proved that their plane crashed at the time the timer ran down.
