So this famous "Incident" is actually what Jack, Kate, etc. did on the past, and the arm... it all fits. I wonder what occured to them, and why Chang in this video like remembers what happened when he mentions it but as a sad experience... God I can't wait for Season 6!

I suppose the reason he says it's important that the computer not be used in any other manner was because they knew that the Others (or hostiles) were able to get into the computer (as Michael discovered).

Why do people think he has a prosthetic hand? Clearly, this one was shot on 8 mm, which is older than the orientation of the Pearl (which is video). He has both his hands perfect in the Pearl when he says "Namaste". Just because his hand looks darker doesn't tell me it's fake.

I think because of the limited amount of epiosdes they have now they just took an important part of the history of the island and just pushed The Incident foward than planned. After watching this and thinking about The Incident epiosde really show that they know what they are doing. I've always had a feeling that they do because if you just run with it the story would collapes on itself. Not so with LOST I can't wait to for the Final Season.

@@famalam943 No. None of the island questions were answered, and while the “reunion in the church” was sentimental and beautiful, it was such a disappointing finale with no answers really justified by the ending. Not a failure, but a huge letdown as the the nature of the island.

@@moniker2.0 I know what you’re saying. It was JJ’s input and his obsession with his damn ‘mystery box’ idea. Just creating mystery for the sake of it whilst having no idea with it actually means or a rough direction with where to take it. That’s how you end up with a bunch of things that went nowhere. Like the numbers… nothing actually happened when they didn’t put them in, the hatch disappeared… that was it. Half the show was the characters and their story and that was good, but the other half was the mystery. Oh and the island explanation and the smoke monster explanation were terrible IMO.

The Swan was the last of the stations to be built, so after his hand got smashed during The Incident, they made the hatch, then made this film with the fake hand. Simple.

What I like to know is what experiments had they done at the station if they were just in the process of digging into the pocket of energy. The "Incident" occured before any experiments were performed there.

His left arm is fake, it was cut off due to the incident. Something most of happened where some metal was being pulled in during the "incident" his left arm was cut off.

@webby724 That was the point though, that element wasn't meant to be realistic. This is high-concept fiction, and no high-concept fiction ever goes for a sense of reality. So, being fiction, it just goes with the territory.

anyone think its possible that jack and co. are the ones that cut some of this and all the videos up. in doing so protecting there future selves from knowing to much to fast. i guess well know when we see were they end up next season

i dont think it has anything to do with the jughead bomb, as that concrete was put in after the incident happened, which was some sort of malfunction with the generator in the room or whatever magnetic equipment it was, i think we would know if there was a bomb or not when desmond turned the fail safe key. there was still a strong magnetic field behind that thick concrete wall, and i think its safe to say its been put there for saftey after the incident happened

Yeah the Incident was not actually related to the hydrogen bomb impacting anything. It was the drilling by the DHARMA guys that released massive amounts of electromagnetic energy which resulted in them using the Swan to contain the energy through the button.

or perhaps the actions on the island were always going to happen (thus the injured arm) , however the large amount of electromagnetic energy could have done the impossible on lost, changed time, the orchid is proof of the fact that the magnetic fluctuations can be used to travel through it. but that's just my theory, it's probably complete rubbish :P

The reason his arm is fake is becuase he probably lost it during the 'Incident' and the reason he looks younger in the second video is becuase he was. He probably uses's different names as like protection. However becuase I am from england n we noy, see lost about 10 years after it has aired in the U.S i may be wrong lol

I'm thinking they are going a totally unexpected direction and the whole show is a battle of the gods thing. Jacob and the mystery man that has possesed Locke are immaortal and have god like powers. Manipulating destiny and time to get these characters to do there bidding. They are building armies. I think Richard is one, also, because he never ages but to a much lesser extent. I'm wondering if there is a fourth "being" behind the concrete.

Pełny Magazynek Yes, and because the lamp post was built on a unique pocket of energy just like the Island and that is how they could find it through a serious of equations. It would be interesting to know who build it, but they can't answer every single question. That's impossible.

RP A lot of people wrote a posts about a man "who was wise and clever" that Eloise talked about - and they wrote that the man was Daniel Faraday... He worked for some months or even years in 70's in Guam as a Dharma scientist so maybe he found the solution how to find the island - but it's not perfect cause as the Dharma says that Lamp Post was the first he couldn't be found the source before he led himself on the Island in the 1974-77...

Alvar sounds pretty Nordic and Hanso might be a variant of Hanson or a family name by marriage.

@@7vanave , as for Alvar, you are right it sounds Nordic, but like really old fashioned Nordic names are quite rare these days. Also, if Hanso was a stand-in for Hanson, the Danish equivalent would be "Hansen".
