Throughout the video, I was thinking about that lonely lady, and my heart continuously wept for her. The bed she slept on, is now getting wet with endless rains. The beautiful glassware she cherished, are now ready to be collapsed and be gone. The peaceful backyard she walked around, is now becoming a jungle...Isn't this the ephemeral nature of every physical thing around us, that is been proving again and again? It's insane leaving these properties empty when there are so many homeless people, it makes my blood boil, these properties although in a rough state, is surely better to sleep in than out in the open, shop doorway or under a bridge,, society is all wrong and upside down,, great video though,, love hugs and respect 🤗💕

Thank you, this is a lovely example of a compact dwelling from its time. It is inevitable, but sad to see Nature encroaching ever more into the abandoned home. The toilet chair is called a commode chair, the long pillows are called bolsters, and handkerchief is the correct word, although it is often shortened to hankie. It looked like she designed wall papers as well as book illustrations, and enjoyed doing still life paintings as well. You did a beautiful job as usual. Stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦

What I love about the abandoned homes in France, Is that being a French descent myself, And seeing a lot of the older homes with antiques with antiques remind me of my great grandmother And seeing a lot of the older homes with antiques with antiques remind me of my great grandmother. Alot of familiar styles of antique furniture that that I have inherited and have to this day. It also reminds me of my mother, and a hand the house she Built-in the seventies that has a lot of is lot of French style like like wooden beans, And beautiful dark wood wall siding not paneling.

This was a cozy little house. Sad to know that this woman lived out her life alone. It's even more sadder to know along with her decaying home it takes with it all her personal belongings, pictures, letters and so on...will all disappear with her and her husband's home.

For the size of this home, I think I would refer to it as a cottage. I grew up in an old house built in the 1840's that had a coal furnace. I'm sure that as a widow, she found an easier heat source. Please be careful when you see the black mold and wear masks or don't go in at all. It is very dangerous for your lungs. I say this in love.

I like that you respect each house and the people's belongings. Those things were important to the occupant. It's nice to see how other people lived in other countries. Here in the U.S. it's a fun day for children. 🎃 Happy Halloween 👻

That basement door was a surprise. I thought it would be shelves. That door, the narrow steps and the basement room look like elves or gnomes would use them.

I worked for antique dealers years ago and it’s killing me to see these antiques go to waste.

In Indonesia such large pillows are still produced and used, we call it 'guling'. i love how you tell us the stories behind abandonment place, always so loving and respectful in those abandoned homes, great job as always. God Bless!

He treats the items with such respect. Abandonment is what happens when people don't plan ahead for older age or illness. By the time you get to your 60's or 70's you should be downsizing so your treasures can be enjoyed by someone who would appreciate them instead of letting them rot away. Too bad the city can't take control and at least salvage. The water will take it down. I wonder if that umbrella handle was ivory? Those wood doors would sell for quite a bit and at least they'd be saved.

That was once an adorable home. Love the built in cabinets and it having a basement. Houses just don't have that character anymore.

This house really reflects the name of this channel. Decay. It must have been a very pretty place before the decay set in though. I understand high taxes could keep people from buying the house but why didn’t someone come for her personal belongings? Honestly? People cannot afford to pay taxes on a small house like that?? They need to throw out that government of that is true! Where do people live if they cannot afford a small house like that?? So a house sits until it falls down because the government is so greedy? That is insanity. The house could have been saved if someone had put a new roof on it and cleaned out the cellar. It looks like she kept the place very nice. She had some very nice wood pieces of furniture, maybe they were passed down to her from her family. There are a few antique pieces there. Way too old to have been her’s originally. Maybe she was some kind of commercial artist? You can always tell the homes that had people who lived before and during WWII. They almost always have some sort of Christian or Catholic symbols around the house. This one must not have been Catholic because no crucifixes, just a cross. I have never seen a bathroom/kitchen combined. That is new to me. The picture of the children that was downstairs looks like 1950s. The countries in Europe just amaze me.

Such a lovely home, with exquisite antiques, furnishings, and cozy touches that shows how much pride of ownership the family had. It's criminal that homes like this rot because the province government charges taxes that drive people to buy newer ( lesser built) homes or rents.

Hey dear Lesley, That is again such a wonderful explore tour through that abandoned French house looking like a legit time capsule. - Although there were some traces of decay visible, the rooms were quite beautiful with nice antique furniture and other smaller antiques. - The beautifully preserved wallclock is probably from the early 20th century, maybe 1920-ies or 1930-ies. The brass lamp on the ceiling has a very art nouveau-isch look, as I think. - The bedroom in its untouched condition was beautiful to see. - I also loved the beautiful and soft background music underlining ideally your video. I really love your deep respect, when you connect the items of this house with the life story of the former owners. - That makes your channel so absolutely unique! - In this way you are giving some kind of a new life to the abandoned and forgotton location and to the former owners. And - last but not least I love your cool and very stylish haircut. That gives you a fresh and modern look. Loved this video rain and all. This lady was artistic and also did a lot of sewing. Near the front door are the garment patterns. I just love it when i see these old sewing machines missing or not. It looks like the attic spanned the whole house. Thank you for all you do. 🌻
