I relate to this song so much, it hits me right in my chest every time I hear it... By 13 years old I was already a 7th grade drop out who had to drink vodka in the mornings to avoid the shakes. I don't remember much from the ages of 13 to 24... And then I got pregnant with my son and he saved me, as well as his dad, as we were both headed full speed down a rough road. My husband and I have been together since we were 16 (We're 35 now) we've been through so much. Listening to this song makes me look back to those days so long ago and I'm so thankful where I am today. And because of what I went through I now know what to do and what not to do when it comes to my kids... Like, being there for them, telling them how much they mean to me and that I love them every single day. You know the things that may seem so little but actually mean the world. .

Hahaha bro I thought the same thing about the footwear! And I'm with you with having a screwed up childhood and how many friends I lost starting in high school. I graduated in 1994 and we all smoked weed, did mushrooms, acid and mescaline. But then cocaine was everywhere and as bad as that was the worst that happened was people getting arrested, until heroin came around and my friends started dropping like flies and still do and I hate it. Between the heroin and suicides I it's horrible how many we've lost here. I'm glad I got my band and we play shows, I've traveled the world through my music and my new band has members that were in the Cro-Mags, Leeway and Agnostic Front and we somehow all survived the chaos of life.... So far!
