This got me thinking of a quote from the movie Crocodile Dundee that has stuck with me for a long time. “See those rocks? Been standing there for 600 million years. Still be there when you and I are gone. So arguing over who owns them is like two fleas arguing over who owns the dog they live on.”

A FEW REMARKLE WORDS IN THE SONG. But first FLOOR'S DRESS: The double helix of the human DNA ***** THE TAPESTRY OF CHEMISTRY: The periodic table of the chemical elements. GAEA: As originally conceived the 'Gaia' concept envisages the Earth as a super-organism that operates to regulate its own environment, principally temperature, to keep it habitable for the biosphere OPUS PERFECTUM the perfect work, the perfect creation AEON: Used in reference to a period of a thousand million years (especially in geology, cosmology and astronomy), its more common usage is for any long, indefinite period THE GARDEN: The earth. THE GOLDILOCKS ZONES: refers to the habitable zone around a star. It's the zone that has just the right temperatures for ( intelligent) life to develop. LUCA: It's the acronym for the Last Universal Common Ancestor, a key concept in the study of early evolution and life's origin that has been tracked by scientists for years. ENTER SANDMAN: Song of the group Metallica LUCY OF THE AFAR Collection of several hundred pieces of fossilized bone representing 40 percent of a female of the hominin species Australopithecus AFARENSIS In Ethiopia, Why was Lucy so important? In 1974, Lucy showed that human ancestors were up and walking around long before the earliest stone tools were made or brains got bigger, and subsequent fossil finds of much earlier bipedal hominids have confirmed that conclusion. Bipedalism, it seems, was the first step towards becoming human. DEVONION SEA: The Devonian is a geologic period and system of the Paleozoic, spanning 60.3 million years ..., called after the place Devon in the UK where rockes of that period were first studied. ENTER RATKIND Popular hypothesis that states that in the case of human extition, rats will be the best suited to take over and evolve into an inteligant species ********

People are amazed how well Marko ansd Floor sing together. They said the same about Marko and Tarja. Marko has sung with many bands in Europe as a featured guest and he won the Finnish Masked Singer competition. He always sounded great with whoever he was with. Marko is a genius with harmonies. He is the reason everyone sounds perfect with him. I believe he is a generational singer, and an argument could be made that he was Nightwish's best singer. Listen to "High Hopes" and "Phantom of the Opera" from the "End of an Era" concert in 2005. Listen to "The Islander" and then reflect on the range of things he can do.

Pause as much as you want sir,, we all saw beautiful masterpiece thousands of times. Love how they used the fireworks to give that Big Bang feel. The very beginning of the endlessness. This album is based on the book of dr. Dawkins (the narrator's voice) Yeah enter sandman, but guys at 29:00 it's???? BACH (evolution in music, Easter eggs hidden in the song) There is one more sir😉

100 years or more from now, people will play or record this song as we now play Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and others........also, Troy adds a 3rd voice to the harmonies.......you should go ahead and read Dr Richard Dawkins book, "The Greatest Show on Earth", whose works have been an inspiration to Tuomas; in fact, he is the "narrator", if you will, during the early part, and post performance spoken pieces.....

Emppu's Metallica riff is more than just a shout out to the band, it's Tuomas' creativity in full effect. You actually touched on the lyric before and after the riff - Man, he took his time in the sun. Had a dream to understand a single grain of sand. Or, in other words........Enter Sandman.

There is the regular straight up-and-down headbanging, there is the side-to-side swoosh, there is the windmill, and there is everything in between. The Enter Sandman Riff ended a mini history of music in there. There are a few easter eggs in this song. If there was no Metallica, there would be no Nightwish. He was going into science until he attended a Metallica concert with a host family during a student exchange trip. 😊

Great reaction! I really appreciate your insights as a musician. Glad you caught the tribute to Metallica (so many reactors miss it and I don't understand how). That section was a small tribute to the evolution of music and features short excerpts from Dies Irae, Minuet in G major by Christian Petzold, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 by Johann Sebastian Bach and of course, Enter Sandman. Tuomas is a big fan of Metallica and it was him seeing a Metallica concert in the US as a teenager that first turned him on to metal music. He was doing a high school exchange program with a family in Michigan I believe and they took him to a Metallica concert and he was blown away by the music. We all owe a high debt to that family for introducing him to metal. I love that final orchestral section of the song. It feels like the soundtrack to a triumphant hero scene in a movie and I love how the bow in perfect time to the crescendo of the music. With the incredibly thoughtful words spoke by Mr. Richard Dawkins from his own writings on evolution which served as an inspiration, the whole song feels like a celebration of life. All life, not just human life. A gift we should cherish and not waste. When I saw them live in 2022 the end of the concert started with The Last Ride of the Day, Ghost Love Score, The Greatest Show on Earth, and the outro was the Ad Astra movement from All the Works of Nature Which Adorn the World. That song is a 30 minute orchestral piece in 8 movements. The last movement features a spoken word section form Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot that is also quite thought provoking and ends with Floor singing a beautiful choral piece. I think you would quite enjoy all of All the Works of Nature and especially Ad Astra. I have never left a concert so inspired and motivated to go live my best life.

Greetings and Love from Germany again 💚. Its been a while, but as i saw you did a reaction to Nightwish's TGSOE, i new its gonna be a special treat, and a emotional one. Kinda sad your beautyful swole-mate wasn't on your side. Of course personal life comes first..good for her to know when its time for a rest. Hope everything else is fine for you. I've told ya that i'm a dry alcoholic since 2010 and less than a year ago i was complainig bout smoking weed here in Germany is illegal. I guess you've heard it maybe allready, that since 1.April this year, it's LEGAL. Germany has really change the law. An adult is allowed to have 50 gram of MJ. And per household its allowed to home grow 3 plants of Ganja. My very first try of home growing is still in process. Harvest is bout in 5-6 weeks. Sorry, i drifted away a bit. And hey, its kinda strange, but you are indeed the only one that can stop the video that much without pissing me off, serious. I hardly can't stand reacters that pause to often, just to throw in some sugar coating and unnessesary sentences. Listening to you is so positive different and intressting comparing to others. Human Mankind is going down, every day a bit faster. Soon we're history, like the dinosours. They had their chance, but nature thought, nope, you've doomed to extinction. Mankind destroys the World we're living in instead of preserve it. We are superfluous and useless here. And some will be happy bout our demise, like the animals, the forrests, the rivers and oceans. We exterminate ourselfs, but we cannot destroy our mother earth. We damage her badly but she still has millions of years to go, and she will recover very quickly from us(who regress to Neandertaler, to cavemen's). She don't give a shit for us. So, that's all Folks Have a peaceful sunday, buddy and please, greetings to Jocelyn...stay safe

The title of the issue is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, about the evidence for biological evolution. Dawkins also contributes to the album. Holopainen explained to HMV in March 2015: "I wrote him a letter a little over a year ago and explained what ideas we had for this album, mainly about evolution. Since one of the songs goes straight to one of his books, it felt like a perfect match to try and recite him on the album. A few weeks later, he sent me an email accepting the invitation." "Later in 2014, we recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honour for us, as Dawkins is one of our greatest heroes and his writings have been a huge inspiration for the album."
