Hey, I hope yall are enjoying this series. This particular part of the series will talk about what I'm carrying into this particular event. And frankly, what I carry into any event other than long trecks. I hope you're all enjoying this so far and hope that you learned stuff out of this.. The next episode will be where we actually go Into the Woods and the Mini series that comes off of that will teach you all very cool interactions with the woods.

Youll enjoys the Caacades, its an beautiful area and north cascades are steep and deep country. If your going to put a few miles on or bushwack off trail an backpack is the way. Couple years ago we did an trip after July 4th in Selway Bitteroot and several nights we had temps down to 23-25*F with hard freezes. Ive also been froze out in summer when in the Beartooths, Crazy mtns, and Wind River Range. Its something to keep in mind when getting into mountains even in summertime because it can be beautiful during the day but aw soon as night comes it can be frigid or even snow.

First of all I like your POV. Secondly I would like to add a roll of cheap, vibrant coloured, non adhesive tape (1" wide or so) to that haversack. Not only it is a great marker to poke on a tree ( you can put notes on them with a sharpie too.) But in emergency,it serves as cordage and/or fire starter too. And eh, whats that neckpouch ???

Phenomenal video man! A 100% agree with having a designated fishing knife. We live in a day and age where we have many many options at many different price ranges and I really feel like having a nice little fishing knife isn't that extra on weight or money. I'm going to have to rewatch this but this is a lot of info and I really appreciate you again man

@@offthecouch1999 swiss makes a Leatherman style multi tool just like Leatherman. The reason why I say swiss is because you build what you want. 111 mm swiss is pretty good but not one is a woodman knife unless it is a champ. Which is the best way. No need for new pins. You just remove what you don't want. Or start collecting them and buy pins and build up what you want.

Good Job! Nice kit. Although I think you could cut down on your fire making items, Without your leather fire kit you already have four items to start fire.. Ferro Rod, Bic Lighter, Matches, Magnifying Glass (around your neck). Add a couple sticks of fat wood and/or some man made tinder and your good to go. Do you carry a folding saw or hatchet to process wood? Keep the videos coming. They are getting better and better.

Okay, any idea where I can get a Haversack like yours? I have been looking for one for some time. The problem I have found, cleaning fish with a folding knife, is how mucky it can get, and its hard to clean. To that end I carry the Buck 102 Woodsmen knife. Its a great small knife for small game, birds and fish. Plus the blade is rust resistant. I live in Wyoming, so my biggest concern is Water. So I will often carry two of the 40 ounce bottles, like you have, plus a 48 ounce camel back. Yes I would rather have more water then I need. Instead of not enough. I never carry a fishing kit. Not really practical for where I live. I would suggest you carry some of the water purification tables, not the iodine ones. That little filter will not handle viruses. Stay safe and this has been a good video.

Thanks for all the advice and I used to carry bleach in a dropper bottle but my area where I'm at is pretty safe to drink. I've done some test kits and boiled any water I thought suspicious. I'll look into non iodine cleaning tabs I guess bleach tabs??

Also go to Blackie Thomas's channel and type in blackbird 2 Haversack. You can get this exact one from there. Honorable mentions... (Pathfinder cheap reliable, not ad big, top flap not secure, system not where near as versatile, but is a great little sack) (camp craft.... much bigger... heavier not as well sewn in my opinion but still good enough and worth the cost...almost as versatile) (opsg products. Very similar slightly less versatile cost less and made by the same guys as my Haversack. Aslo has other Haversacks you may like for your Wyoming area. Cooler weather and more water measn you need more bag= marsupial Haversack. Again that's OPSG PRODUCTS ) and BLACKIE THOMAS and CAMP CRAFT AND PATHFINDER If never owned a coal cracker Haversack so I can't say whether they are good or not but he's known for decent and good gear.
