Yes, the car park was open, just! I always need all of the available light at this time of year, because filming obviously takes time, after all the retakes. I think it opens later, later in the year. Ah, I didn't know that about the Hairy Golfer! Congratualtions to him! I did play golf (well, crazy golf!) once, an awful experience. Because of my condition, I have terrible fine muscle control, and bad hand/eye co-ordination, so golf is a no no for me. Walking is just fine though! I had completely forgotten about Ron's visit there (6 months ago?) - the route just sprung out at me from the book that my daughter got for me for Christmas. I hope to cover more walks that are in it, that are in my area. Surprisingly, I don't know that area very well, and I have never done this walk before. Thanks for a great comment David! Cheers, Paul

That must have been quite an experience Malcolm. Given just how difficult it is to reach Symonds Yat even today by car (the roads, and that bridge you mention, Huntsham, are all narrow and twisty) and the high number of tourists, I would thought that this would have survived - it would have made an event in itself travelling behind a steam engine running alongside the River Wye. We have chucked so much good stuff away, alas. Great memories! Thank you, Paul.

Oh my gosh - that is very coincidental! Yes, I was planning to do the Welsh Bicknor to Kerne Bridge section at some point. I only did this section because of the book that I had for Christmas.
