I actually dont mind this episode. It really just furthers my love for Sawyer and serves to make Jack more likable by not falling for Kate's bullshit.

Not the best episode of the show, I agree. The bank robbery scene was the hardest for me to believe. BUT they DO explain the significance of the toy plane later on. And I think it makes this episode better when they do.

I really like Sayid and Shannon. The way he looks at her sometimes really seems genuine and I like their chemestry. Very cool. I never really connected with Kate... But NO, I've never wanted to shove her face in the sand /water.. You wacko! 😅😅😅

Kate knew Sawyer would never let her just take the case, nor would he give up trying to get it open, and there's no way he could be trusted with guns. I don't think it's that crazy of a storyline, but you'll see there's a recurring theme of Kate's story just *having* to involve Jack or Sawyer for some reason, which drags her character down a lot. It's awfully generic and sexist at times. But when her story doesn't involve either of them in rare instances, she has some of my favourite moments / episodes of the series. Kate definitely has issues (like all of them) but I always knew at her core she was a good person. Can't help but care about her. And you'll see why the toy plane is so important to her. I love Rose and Charlie's interactions in this episode. Really touching. Rose is the best. And I can't help but adore Sayid and Shannon too. Despite how quick their feelings develop, it's genuine.

Bro the second half of this season, especially the last few episodes are some of best episodes in the series! You're gonna love it, it's gonna make you want to continue on to season 2. You'll see!

Up until this episode, I was kind of "meh" on Kate. Nor was I ever really a big fan of Jack. But when Kate pulled that shit, palming the key after Jack helped her dig up the body. I was all, "Talk to the hand. You're dead to me whore." Haven't liked her since.

There's a good reason why Sayid + Shannon doesn't bother you like Kate + Jack or some of the other ships, and that reason is chemistry.

On the bright side, this is NOT the worst episode of the whole show (that would be Fire + Water or Stranger in a Strange Land). It's only in the bottom 3. So you still have those to look forward to. (*Whew!*)

20 plus episodes a season (except for the latter ones) and you're bound to get filler episodes. That's just how it is. Kate's flashbacks are certainly the worst ones though.
