At the time this was written, I was a bit of both. I have always had a darkness, but as implied by your words, I can and do use it to hone and focus the light in me that also resides, thus the phrase, (running ever from his Light”) . I do know better, but this song was the chronicled beginning onset of a severe 14 year depression resulting in a daily mental condition of insanity and/or suicide brought about by a then unknown gaslighting predator. I write most of my scary songs to give me a working perspective which will allow me to dismantle the issues and be safer and stronger for it. In ”Lost” the best I could do at the time was admit to the condition and keep looking at it every time I performed it to learn a better path of progressive processing. The trouble was, I could make self adjustments. The instigation of the disfunction came from the psychopath who I was needing validation from and therefore, no change to me would correct the issue. I hope that this song reaches folk who are lost in their own gaslit troubles and can show them their way out.

Find it interesting that I only saw that you commented 7 months later. But that's not your fault . I just hope you're in a better place now. Your songs give more encouragation than you know, I think. You give more courage, then you know I have Anxiety a severe learning. Disability and writing and spelling especially is extremely difficult for me. I have to use a speak to spell program, but knowing your story and only what you share. Give me the courage if you could surely be yourself.
