This video was really informative! There's so much that you said that I wish I knew when I first started by lash business from home. I agree with you 100% that getting lash models and practicing alot in the beginning will help you improve over time. It can be discouraging in the beginning when your sets don't turn out looking good, but the more you practice the better you'll get at it. Also, investing in good quality supplies like tweezers, glue and lighting makes all the difference so I would tell any new lash artist to save up and invest in quality products. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! Awesome video!! The school I went with for lashes did go over business stuff and I can even call them any time I need to for help business wise or for tips on lashing. They also have a section that teaches about how to take photos, which is really cool. I work from home and one reason I went with them is they also supplied all the lashes I needed, glues, aftercare and cosmetics, my light and bed, so I did have a cube shelf I used for my retail items and I bought a shelf for my lash trays, got a file cabinet and a chair. They provide paperwork that I have to write down the client's lash length, color, curl, diameter, eye color, shape, and the number on the bottom for which glue and primer I used on the set for safety. We get sheets to write down each appointment and what's purchased and a 15 minute stretch/glue shake sheet 😊 so I felt really set up. I have yet to take some classes by Lost Artistry. Always learning and I use your adhesive now. Best adhesive.

This was so incredibly informative. I have noticed that some states here in the U.S. require lash techs to have an esthetician license. Not sure about my current state though? I've also seen where lash courses lists numerous types of lash styles that they will be teaching in a 1 day class as well. So I'm glad that you addressed that.

I find that the education in the US varies by state and not as consistently as a cosmetology license. For example, in the northeast, the states have requirements to get a lash license but not extensive coursework for lashing. The coursework is only 50 hours. It’s def not enough. We covered volume In 4 hours. Practice and additional courses are almost a requirement (which can be cost prohibitive for Some).

My state was sued by an artist who was licensed in another state. They were forcing artists who had been licensed for doing lashes for years to take esthetician classes just to get licensed in this state. The lash artist won, so now as of September 1, they have a separate license for lash extension specialist. They have actually made it harder for new artists though, because no one around my area offer’s just lash extension classes, and anyone who wants to teach them has to apply for another special license and show their curriculum to the state to be approved for it! So even though your classes cover their requirements, since you are not licensed to teach in my state, I can’t use the classes for licensing. It’s crazy! Ohh and they don’t even have the license on their site yet to apply for any of this! Hopefully that makes sense about my state.. but I doubt it because it doesn’t really make sense to me! 😂

Im only learn a basic classics lahes here in japan.and onlie course and have a cerificate of comlpetion.but here in japan.they dont accept me because i dont have a cosmetology,beautician lisence or antyhing. Can I do a lash business from home as a side hustle/hobby and not have to license my room as a salon space through the state board of cosmetology?? I’m so stuck on this!! Located in Pennsylvania. I want to start lash business from home, but I do not know where to start after getting my LLC. I have had a couple years of experience in a salon. I am in a lash course and I just need to complete a volume model which i plan on doing once I have the business started at home. I have a nail tech license and an aesthetician license in Pennsylvania. I have a tax lady who would work as the accountant. I plan on creating a business bank account. Is a LLC like business insurance
