Nobody gonna talk about how Kitana just slaughtered the Kombat kids? 🤣

Chapter 15 was made for fan-fiction. I chose Baraka, none that you fought were whom I fought, but the mixing of two fighters was an interesting mix. I like how in MK 1 Mileena, Baraka and Sindel are good, instead of evil. I like that change.

Liu Kang's word "The realm are in safe hand." is setting a whole new saga. I think MK1 story is just a "prologue chapter" of the story on the next game in the future. A new era in the Liu Kang's vision. Earthrealm and Outworld assembled together as a alliance. and already prepare to faces the "new enemies" in the future. Whatever they are from. (cyber lin-kuei, black dragon, red dragon, shao's army or enemies from the another timeline.) the climax of this game is just the mission Liu Kang needs to revising as a keeper of time that tangled from the previous game. after this, the story of new era is just has begin.

So, the experiments with fusions in the flash pits before were an indication that the keeper of time version of Shang Tsung was going to merge the timelines he would conquer in this weird chaotic way.

Can you imagine how f*cked up titan Havik's timeline is?? Nightmare fuel. I've watched the full 15 chapter with you and it's been a hell of a ride...are you gonna do towers to see the endings of each character? There are a lot of wholesome ones. I'd love to your reactions to them.

Truthfully I feel like Mileena is one of the few true choices to pick for this as she’s the “star” of this timeline. The others being Raiden and Liu Kang himself. Someone could argue more but those come immediately to mind

It would be a really crazy thing, if they would release a DLC, where you can create your own character, just like in Mortal Kombat Armageddon. I would love to see that.

I love that the tower endings are canon in this game. They give an insight into where our characters are heading next in this new timeline.

Depending on who you picked depends on your opponents you will face like there are female versions of Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile for example that would wind up battling. The Purple Cyber ninja was MK3 version of Cyber Smoke

I love the ending with johnny cage he really did become the hero he was always meant to be. All around the story was really good and im really hoping that NRS expands on more if it with future Expansions.

A part of me wants to believe that Titan Havik is the original era Havik from MK Deception. His attitude reminded me so much of him.

Mortal Kombat 1 2023 is (in my opinion) the best Mortal Kombat game ever. The story, gameplay, animations, stages, character designs, character relationships, everything was done PERFECTLY, i absolutely loved the callbacks and references to previous Mortal Kombat games, as well as seeing characters who've had little to no screen time/significance to the story (like Baraka, Mileena, and Reptile) become significant/fleshed out and complex characters in this game as opposed to previous titles where Baraka and Reptile were merely lackeys for Shao Khan and where Mileena was barely focused on/fleshed out. And speaking of Mileena MK1's versipn of Mileena is the BEST Mileena ever. She's finally Kitana's biological sister/ finally got her own chapter. And i love the family dynamic between her, Sindel, and Kitana. What this game absolutely nails at doing in my opinion is character relationships. Raiden and Kung Lao, Johnny and Kenshi, Reptile and Baraka, ETC, and the final mission/battle was ABSOLUTELY INSANE, it was Armageddon but with beings/characters across many different timelines, so awesome. The gear in this game is the coolest/best looking gear in MK history, and the best part is that all of it is FREE, you just have to play the Invasions mode. 10/10 game, worth every penny.

This is both the best & worst thing about mk1. It lets you customize the final choice to who you want & how insane and wacky all the alt versions are but also I would have loved a much more "focused" ending. Also titan Havik him becoming a titan means in his timeline he became keeper of time!!! :O

I know you a mileena main but from storywise. It makes since. Shang gave her the tarkat disease practically destroyed her family. She deserve some get back. I picked Kitana because of the somewhat poetic justic of the deadly alliance killing her lover during MKDA.

I think that female red ninja, is a reference to Ruby from the Mortal Kombat cartoon, Defenders of the Realms.

Such a bad ass, ending to such an amazing story. I gotta say it’s my favorite Mortal Kombat story so far hands down.

That must have felt weird for original Kitana, to hear Milenna being greatful for her help. I keep hearing or people saying "setting up for the next game" but surely they will just continue some of the story with DLC.

Now that guy in the end credits, was the REAL Havik. Had the spike club and the helmet like before and truly embraces the chaos. (He did my boi Jax dirty so flip him 🤦🏾‍♂️)

definitely the best MK story to date! totally worth the 4 years of waiting. the tiny easter eggs from the older games appearing in this game was such a pleasant treat and the character designs and customisation- absolutely amazing. seriously can’t wait to see what’s next. thanks for the story walkthrough LOSTy! 😍

I’m thinking the choose your fighter starts the end fight. So that’s why it didn’t feel like a 3 tier boss, it was a pyramid ascent. And all the mixups were from Titan Havik’s timeline (based on the end after credits)

to a degree, when liu kang and shang tsung became titans, not only did they become titans of time but respectively became the titans of good and evil

I do not believe for a second that there would be a 'good' Shang Tsung in ANY timeline. 🤨

LK 7T2 is Cyber Smoke. He was seen in MK3 and as Triborg in MKX.

Funny thing is in the background of the final battle, you can see the symbol of Chaos Undivided from Warhammer 40K in Shang Tsung's timeline. And the post credits scene shows Havik, proposed as possibly the new big bad, who from the original timeline is from Chaosrealm, and not Seido.

I don’t think it wasn’t fair that kitana didn’t get her part in the story but Mileena she was amzing her Tarkat side was amazing Mileena and Kitana will do anything to protect Jerrod’s Legacy and for the death of their mother Sindel

I think the “4” Milena isn’t just Milena but a tarkat ver of Kitana tanya and jade because of their colors and Ik people would say “but Milena is the Kitana blah blah” it makes sense since that “Milena” is blue

I really liked this story a lot, overall and even better with your reactions! It was nice to see Mileena as a good character and who finally comes out on top. The story leaves me with a few questions, though. Like what happened to MK11 Kitana? They never showed whether she recovered after she got blasted away? Also, did the other survivors of the fight just leave armless Jax laying on the steps to die 😥

I do hope that in the next game/possible story dlc we deal with Titan Havik and possibly go into Chaosrealm, it'd be fun to see how the realm has changed since Deception.

Outstanding game play,i think story mode in mk1 was a little better then mk11 base and aftermath story,hell even better then mkx but have to say that finale battles were insane but the let down was the final boss fight with titen Shang tsung was easy then other boss fights i expected more like in mk9 boss fight shang or original mk boss Shang but it is what it is can't wait for your review on the mk1 story.

Mortal Kombat has a multiverse component now. All these warriors coming from different temporal realities makes literally anything possible. Star Trek says it best. Infinite diversity in Infinite combinations.

This story definitely surpassed mk11 for me, and the roster is probably the best I’ve seen in an mk game by far. Also, I have to say, you are an absolute beast with Mileena!

It’s weird that Quan Chi and Goro aren’t as buff in this game 🤔

While I otherwise loved the story in this, I worry that they are writing themselves into a corner with how mostly perfect the prime universe is. Also, it occurred to me how obvious it is why there is no real dissension over the throne and the sucession between the sisters. Mileena is the eldest in this universe, and of course Liu Kang would ensure Kitana would have the personality to be the loving sister that only helps her.

Losty's to the alternate variants was incredibly cute. The "Huh!?" and face scrunch at Quantum Chi made be laugh. All in all this was a fantastic story mode and really entertaining overall. Liu Kang's reaction to Johnny's comment is incredibly wholesome. You can see in that moment why he does all of this.

In one timeline, Losty is Empress Mileena! And she rules a just and wonderful realm! 😊

After going through the story, I can say that it started off extremely strong and continued to stay very strong for a good while. However, once a bit past the midpoint I felt like it slowly started to decline. Now I do see why they wanted to build things up after the events of MK 11 aftermath, and in turn I understand how that can make and enrich the events in the previous game have more weight to it, yet at this point I really felt that the whole timeline mishaps have been heavily overdone in MK. Seeing Fire God Lu Kang who was powerful enough to take down Kronika suddenly being overpowered by Sindel plus some others characters and Shao being a far bigger jobber, really put the power scaling all over the place. I was also really hoping they'd introduce a character NetherRealm studios hasn't used before (particularly Onaga) as the overarching antagonist. With a new timeline shaped by Liu Kang, Onaga being the original ruler of Outworld before Shao Kahn, and with the teasing of the dragon army it really did seem fitting for Onaga to return this time around. The final chapter I felt was a bit of a mess and the pacing became rather disjointed, and while I do love Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, who are both great villain's, I felt having them being the primary antagonist was rather underwhelming rather than having a big boss character that MK is typically known to have. The story was definitely a contender to having my favorite MK story mode, but unfortunately I might be my least favorite now. Overall it's an amazing game and it's going to be incredibly fun to play more, yet the way the story ultimately unfolded did very much disappoint me, probably also because I had such high hopes for it.

It was a 9 out of 10 overall, but the Armageddon part made the end a little messy tbh. They just crammed all the 3d games in one. But I like the idea of it, it just wasn't executed the best.

I loved the story mode but really disappointed with the ‘big bad’ - they’re making normal roster characters the final fights and it would’ve been so cool to see Onaga come back. It was the perfect opportunity since there was the dragon army and the deadly alliance. If they make Havik the final boss in the next game then that’s going to be really underwhelming. Let’s just hope they add an element to him that makes him cooler like they did with Corrupted Shinnok.
