So in case you weren't aware: my favorite genre of video game outside of fighting games is actually JRPGs. In particular I really like turn-based ones. That said, one of my absolute favorite series of all time is the Persona series. so when Sega reached out to me asking if I'd like to get my hands on Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance I HAPPILY accepted. @@Lucaribrix Check out P3Reload. It is a great Persona game and I think it is more polished than P5R. Only thing is that the game is short compared to P5R

You can play Persona 5 Strikers and go on a road trip with them some months after the main game. It is scratching that itch for me. It is pretty decent.

SMT 5 Vengeance is a great game. Im so happy Atlus took the time to fix the original and drop it as a new game. They revamped the game 100% and gave it the love it deserved

@@sleepylmguy9968 Locked on Switch with bad performance, and fights had XP requirements (unless you want to do no damage) which meant grinding was no longer just an after-thought but a requirement.

@@xmus4023 Okay the Switch only thing I get is a bit of downside. But the XP part. I mean that’s just being a typical RPG tho. That is generally how it goes anyway by most RPG game design. Is that really an issue?

@@sleepylmguy9968 Most SMT game balance is balanced around the ability to beat higher lvl demons with new demons with better abilities either recruited or fused. It was fair throughout the whole series pretty much, and having to resort to traditional RPG XP grinding as a *means of main progression* in certain sections of the game is a step backwards.

@@brotbrotsen1100 I honestly got really bored with the original. I got around 30 hours or so into it and just felt no urge to keep playing and see the end. The story was dull as hell up to that point. I think I had just beaten that giant head demon thing, whatever it was called. I got a little bit past that point and just put the game down forever. 🤷‍♂️

@@Urlastnerve I heard that often. As a small example of the changes. The demon you mention was lahmu, this time around you beat him in the school for good where Tao sides with the red haired girl and both get offed by one of the new demons. The sister of one of the characters gets kidnapped and you have to save her from the new demon team so to speak. Throughout almost the whole game Tao and yoko, the new girl are with you with the others joining momentarily at certain points as well. Stuff happens over the course of the game and you also get a new nahobino form.

Just got mine and yeah persona 4 golden on the vita got me into the series and jrpg every since then Ive been hooked, played p5, platinumed p5r, rebought p4g, i am just recently almost done with P3R and I now im playing SMT V lmao. I also plan to get metaphor

You can use Talk at the beginning of a fight, no Hold Up required. There are times when talking to mobs that you already have in your party, can be a better and safer bet than pressing on if you're in a bit of a pinch.

If it’s a demon you don’t have I recommend beating the other demons first and then try and recruit the one you don’t have in case negotiations go sour.

I personally like the SMT mainline series over Persona Spinoff just because how dark and morbid the world and tone are and not to mention once you actually learn how to use the press turn combat system? The one more combat system of persona looks like a child's toy. Also the difficulty of the SMT mainline is the reason I have so many hours in nocturne and SMT IV, IV: A and V on my switch,

Ominous? I love this game, and it definitely had me kinda walking on eggshells with the subject matter. Horror games do nothing for me, but games like this gets me edgy lol. All that being said, Nocturne will forever be goated. And Ominous, I guess that's the right word lol. For the longest time back then, man Nocturne had me questioning some things lol, and I was heavy into Christianity back then. I lightened up since then, obviously since I'm pushing 40, and I played Nocturne when I was 17-18. Old game, but and if you don't mind some archaic gameplay, you might want to check that one out someday. Anyway, have fun.

I got smt5 on switch. I’m gonna be honest. It didn’t grab me like p5 did at all. In fact I got so bored with it that I quit after about 25 hours because I felt there was nothing driving me to beat it. The story wasn’t interesting to me, the soundtrack was dope, the combat was nice but that’s a given with these games, and the world just felt blah. I wish it hooked me in like p5 did but it never happened. Maybe I stopped too soon? I think I was around 5 or hours after when you kill that giant face demon thing. If they say the story is better this time I might check it out
