As much as Arnold did for popularising the sport of Bodybuilding through Pumping Iron, Lou Ferrigno did just as much and if not more so sacrifing his obvious Olympia reign to do the incredible Hulk series, there will only be one! the rest computer animations! I met Lou two times in my life, and each time it was big event for me, I grew up admiring Lou, Arnold and Franco. These men gave me the desire to lift and become as defined and big as I could get...the last time I met Lou I presented his autobiography book and asked if he would sign my favorite pose....His story is impressive and he is impressive.... I also enjoy knowing that Lou's birthday is November 9th and mine is November 8th not the same day but close enough...Hey Big Lou, if you read this...Your the best and thank you for the inspiration to lift tons of steel...

Saw Lou in Hercules back in the 80s. Lou was a monster.

What a thickness and amazing chest! That is without the gut bloating of most of today's pro bodybuilders.

A strong Mr Olympia deserving body builder. But sadly remained uncrowned. He made many body builders look small in front of him. But his fans will always remember him as a crowned Mr Olympia in their hearts.

In the photos of Lou & his father, young Lou is Only 16 years old. In only 5 years he becomes IFBB Mr. America & IFBB Professional Mr. Universe. In 1973, at 21 years old Lou is the youngest professional Mr. Universe in IFBB history... At 22 years old he is Mr. America, 2 Time Mr. Universe & now Mr. International. It was at the 1974 Mr. International that Arnold really noticed Lou as a threat in Bodybuilding. They met in '73 when Lou won the Universe & Arnold won the Olympia. Even in those '73 photos the tension was visible on Arnold's face. By '74 Arnold had grown comfortable with the fact that Sergio Oliva had quit the IFBB in 1973 after Sergio won the Mr. International in Mexico & challenged Arnold to come onstage to let the Audience decide instead of Weider's trickery. Arnold chickened out & Weider freaked & had Sergio stripped of the title. So by '74 Arnold knew he had no real threats to his Olympia title. Then he meets Lou Ferrigno. Arnold is amazed & calls him the wonder kid! Arnold sees a younger, larger, stronger version of himself with an even better waistline! In his recent biography "Total Recall" Arnold promoted the '74 Mr. International & Lou amazed him. Arnold even says that if HE had Lou's physique he would know how to train it and defeat Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold knew that although Lou was more physically gifted than he was that the contest prep & conditioning was something that took a lot of time & experience. So he figured that by the time Lou perfected the contest prep he would already be retired. Which is EXACTLY what happened in reality! In 1994-95 Lou Ferrigno was onstage at 325lbs ripped! In Pumping Iron Arnold was 225lbs...

I met Lou Ferrigno in 1996 after he retired from the Master's Olympia. If Bodybuilders were Mountains. I've Never seen Anyone who combined the height 6'5" with a shredded 315+lbs of ripped separated mass like him. He made Arnold in Eraser look Anorexic and the WWF Rock look like a flabby piece of shit. He makes Phil Health look like Gary Coleman & Kai Greene look like Webster!
