Hello, and like you my father died as well, but I came across your comment scrolling, and not to bother you, but I just can’t help but to put away that falsehood that we were taught, "the dead are in heaven", that is a lie!!! He was outstanding. Saw him live in the Gusman cultural center in Miami in 1979. He went off stage after an hour and then quickly came back on stage singing his Budweiser commercial. The audience went wild, he sag for another 45 minutes. Incredible. Great orchestra too.

My wife and I listened to his album while driving after our wedding June 20, 1986 the next day at dawn and watching the sun rising and listening to this song "See You When I Get There". Still creates memories after all these years together. It makes us very happy. Still love Lou Rawls !!! Till death do us part.

Isaac Hayes has a great voice too, but his musical compositions are Just brilliant. The' Shaft' album is a masterpiece. And his discosong 'Disco Connection' shows he's able to show his brilliant songwriting in any style. So sad he's gone now. But his music will last forever

I’ll love this song till the day I die 🙏💯♥️I was born a year after it came out, always heard it on the radio growing up in the late 70’s…. Brings so many memories back!!
