The Bible was literally written down like a book. For example when 9/11 happened 22 years ago the whole world saw it. So anybody who saw can write a book about the event because we all witnessed it. Now it would be up to the historians to decide if the information in the book matches up to the historical event not match it up to the reliability of the person who wrote the book. Same thing with the gospels. Jesus death, burial and resurrection was witnessed by thousands of people. So the gospels are the most accurate account of the historical event.
