Hope your okay, I definitely relate. When I first heard this song I was going through a very toxic marriage. I was inlove but I knew that love was dying. He was a narcissist alcoholic. But also the father of my child & we been through hell & back in the 8 years we were together! I loved him so much but he was destroying me. He walked out on us & this song actually held me back from chasing him! I knew I had to let go…. He changed me in many ways but I knew I would be happier without him. I found happiness again & I’m so glad I heard this song to help me let go!!! I’m glad this song helped save your life! Music is sooo powerful!!! It is definitely our therapy!!! Coming back to this song a few years later, kinda hurts. What used to be just a cool song, with really good lyrics, became my reality. Girl I was proposing to later this year dumped me on the day before Valentines. The lyrics of this song just speaks to me now in ways it didn’t before. There’s so many lines that fit perfectly. I still love the song to death, but man, every time I hear it now I get emotional. I really loved her, and she just threw me away out of no where and tried to pull “let’s be friends”.
