I've listened to the President's speech. I agree with almost everything he said, but I was puzzled by his opinion on Social workers. How come he says the country needs a few Social workers when the majority of the country's population is faced with a lot of social ills which need the interventions of Social workers? Many South Africans are dealing with a lot of mental health conditions which can only be dealt with by professionals like Social workers. In one of my videos here on KZfaq I'm giving my opinion on how the unemployed Social workers can be deployed in our communities to assist our families and individuals who are struggling with Social and mental issues. Each and every ward in a municipality must have its own Social worker whonis deployed there to work together with the ward councillor in that ward. All public schools must have a Social worker placed there to counsel both teachers and children. All Home Affairs managers must have a Social work qualification because this department deals with family issues. That's my opinion. Social workers are still relevant in our society. We still need them to help even those so called clever learners who sometimes struggle with alcohol and drug addiction.

I think you are looking at his statement in a shallow manner. Baba is saying that it is not right that children are not motivated enough to tackle those carriers that are seen as hard. Take China for instance, China invests more on educating it students about technology and science at a very young age hence it is one of the best manufacturing countries in the world. He just made an example with one course but he is actually addressing and driving in a much bigger issue and point. I think Baba JZ is a kind of man that you must listen with an open mind because like he said, he is not too sophisticated in words but I think he knows exactly what he is talking about and knows how he will do it.
