In my teens we had to run x3 100m sprints in training it's usually the 2nd 100 is your quickest. As someone else said a stop clock is not accurate. However, I believe he could be much quicker if stays injury free. Nevertheless, 10.4 is real quick!!

There's no doubt that LRZ is very quick, and 10.44 (as per the BBC report earlier today), would put him in the top echelons of rugby speedsters, but it is not clear how this time was achieved or repeated. A stop-watch seems to be used which could add or subtract as much as maybe 0.3 depending on how it is started. Back in the days of hand-timing in athletics, there would be as many as three timekeepers for each lane and an average taken. And it appears that there is an electronic timing device at the finishing line - if so, how is that started and how does that relate to the stop-watch? And so on. 10.7 would still be bloody quick, mind!!

The whole video is most probably fake propaganda. Show the entire sprint in real time. Everyone can time the sprint the to m/s then. He’ll probably clock a 100m of around 11.1-11.4s in a real comp.

Correct. I would put money in him being 11.0X. With FAT and Tbf he didn't use blocks. He may be 10.97 8 9 at a push, in perfect conditions and fitness level, but 10.44, zero chance.
@RossKempOnYourMum01

@@reddragon1572 Here's what i think happened. LRZ reports his 100m PB. This is based on HIS word. This piece we are watching is filmed as promotional material, and they get some live shots of him running plus a live shot of a stopwatch at his reported time. The two shots have zero relation to one another, and the footage of him running is NOT footage of him running a 10.4. In short, this was staged but based on what LRZ says is his PB.

Two things are off in this video. I counted that he took around 54 steps. The avg for a 10 second runner is around 45 steps. Bolt does it in 41. Second thing i noticed is that his form is bad. There is no arm swing back. I just dont think he ran 10.4.

Every single private school in the UK will have wingers running around the 11 second mark. For those saying Zammit has a 100m time greater than 11s, you are bonkers. 10.44? Probably not. 11+ seconds, definitely not.

hahahha are you fucking serious? "Every single private school in the UK will have wingers running around the 11 second mark".... There were about 30 kids u17 in the entire UK who ran sub 11 for a 100 metres last year - and they were all track specialists. Lachie Turner, who was an international wing for Australia, won a race in 11.10 official to find the fastest cross-code rugby player in the country about 10 years ago. Just as well he wasn't racing against a bunch of spotty public school toffs in England, what?

Hand held. Not a professional official timer. No gun. Could be out by 0.3 secs. Mind you, his running style can be coached/improved and he didn't use blocks etc. I'm surprised that he doesn't look professionally coached; his start (awful) and 'drive phase' could improve massively. He looks tense, and his arms are tight and are driven across his body, rather than to the side of his head. His stride and knee-lift could also be improved on. At this stage, he's just relying on raw power and speed - the NFL coaches will fix loads!!

0.3 secs? You are being generous in the extreme. Start with half a second and go up from there. His form is fucking awful, he just stands up and runs and his stride length is poor. He's not breaking 11.

Lets see the full 100m sprint? This is most probably fake. Just for advertisement and competitive purposes. As a sprinter myself, if LRZ did an official electronically timed 100m in a comp, he’d be closer to 11.44. It would be astounding if he broke the 11 second barrier. Rugby does this too often with players. Random times thrown about. School times. Hand times. Players’ m/s time somehow converted to a 100m time. Its kind of disrespectful to actual sprinters. Just go to any official comp, do a time, it’ll be uploaded onto the Power of 10, and no further questions asked. All these so-called times are probably almost a second out for every rugby player.

Yeah Doug Howlett was one of the fastest ever rugby players. He won the 110m hurdles national champs in high school. Online it has his 100m time anywhere from 10.4 to 10.6. It’s all bullshit. Legitimately he only ran a 10.96s legal 100m time. And there won’t be many other rugby players faster than that.
@neiler123
@neiler123 4 ай бұрын
I would suggest his time was nearer 11.00 secs and more scientific electronic timing would be required to validate his true 100m time.. His form and the camera angles do not suggest a 10.44 time
