Luxury is health. Luxury is family. Luxury is laughing with your friends. Luxury is help around the house. Luxury is being able to live your life like you want to. Luxury is definitly not a handbag. People who think that are people who need more in life but have not figured what yet… anyway, it s a path.

Buying luxury has lost its lustre for me. All of these price increases have turned me off from actively shopping for luxury items and have actually made me feel more content with what I already own. I’m middle aged and am now more focused on putting my time, money and energy into self care, exercise, eating healthy, etc. so I can look and feel my best. No handbag, no item of luxury clothing, shoe or accessory will impact how good I feel on a daily basis as much as engaging in healthy habits will.

Well at least LV canvas bag resell value isn’t as bad as Dior bag (leather). I like LV bags for using everyday unlike Chanel and Hermes are only for occasionally, most of the time they just sitting in the closet. LV bags get used more

LV has been SO weird for me. I used to hate it until I turned 40, then I got the first one and fell in love with the practicality of their canvas. I am a monochromatic looks kind of gal, heavily into assymetry and volume (Belgian and Japanese style). And they work so well with their canvas. At the end of the day, I don’t use my Chanel and Hermès bags nearly as much as my LV canvas, it’s not even a contest. When, in the past, I used to think LV lacked good taste and was quite boring. I also have had zero issues with quality, they’ve all been stellar, so that lucky I guess. Turns out, I enjoy their pieces immensely in practice. Strange. But the lines outside the shops? No. I did it once, never again. Only buy through a sales associate nowadays.

Dior and Armani just got caught using 3rd party laborers to make handbags for $57 but sell them for over $2,000. I like Loius Vuitton and have many of their wallets. But their price is no longer reachable.

Your closet is simple a dream! Not just the *gtdupe* bags but the ready to wear that you have is absolutely stunning.

That type of price increase, of 1 to 2% makes absolute sense in my opinion, it’s connected to inflation and price of raw materials going up too. Chanel constant having over 10% price increases, that’s absolutely ridiculous! In terms of quality LV versus Hermès, my very expensive Garden Party is fabric lined, so LV making Canvas doesn’t mean it’s less luxurious, or less quality, it’s about the house heritage.

Yes the color of the *gtdupe* is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

Shopping is just shopping, whatever you buy. If you order yourself a bespoke suit - that’s luxury, or you can go to Palma de Mallorca to order MTM Carmina shoes - you can choose materials, play with design, have piece tailored etc. To me it’s so strange that I’m offered a champagne at the store - I am not drinking some random alcohol in the middle of the day. And yes - health is a luxury.

I feel like luxury brands stereotype the very rich. Assuming they have so much money to spend that quality isn’t important to them. I think there is a good chance with the continued price increases for less quality items that even the ultra rich are going to pass on the crazy prices.

Hey there, Tiana! Since I started watching luxury youtube, I have aspired to one day own a high end handbag but the more the prices rise, they are way less attainable for me. I look and admire from afar and buy contemporary brands like Dooney and Bourke, Coach, Kurt Geiger, Kate Spade, et al. I will live vicariously through lovely people like yourself, Tiana. From my past experiences with my LV pieces I will probably never buy anything from them again I have YSL pieces I’ve had longer in much better condition. I only want real leather if I’m paying luxury prices. I’m the same I hate a queue at my big age I will pay to skip a queue if I can lol

Do you find it too wide/big and bulky? I’ve just bought the *gtdupe* which is basically the same width and my only worry is it bumping into things and wear on the corners, has yours scuffed?

I love the design, but I don't have the budget. So I bought the *gtdupe* bag. Made from high quality legal snakeskin made by local Indonesian artists. From now on I never want to buy any luxury goods.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have the *preluxz* as my travel bag and not have to take care of it. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

I paid £310 for a damier speedy 30 from the New Bond Street boutique in 2007. These new prices make me sick, absolute madness.

I bought a mens key pouch in April. Its was £350 seriously feels like plastic one of the petals has been misprinted. Its not the same anymore I still have a card holder from 08 and its battered but its still in good condition. I bought my nephew one he's had it 18 months and the print has faded so badly on it. The canvas is not the same, I’d even go far as to say Ive seen better DHgate ish. For them to raise prices like this is disgusting. Id rather save to go on a shopping trip to Tokyo for vintage then go shop for these new pieces. Even Pharrells stuff is overhyped and over priced for a leather bag.

I remember you did a video about the prices Gucci employees pay vs consumers. I think you mentioned an SLG was $30 vs $400. Makes you wonder. You know you’re paying more and most people are okay with an up charge but when the difference is extortionate the. We question value for money.
