One of the best docs on Creole culture I've seen. It's very interesting and funny. It's not so much to educate only on what is a Creole but simply discussion and a collection of stories about a people group. Simply lovely. They forgot the Creole word for porch though. 😂 I still don't know how to spell it but I think it's "garrét". My daddy used to say it all the time. Lol!

Thank you for that piece of information my family and I have considered ourselves to be Black American for a few centuries but due to a recent exploration of genealogical research based upon our family's surname we have discovered that their were a great number of white creoles with our exact surname living in places like Michigan, ohio, pennsylvania etc.

Those people were probably Cajuns not Creole. Cajuns are the former Acadians. They were French people who settled in Canada. Which is why Canada also has French as a national language. When the British pushed the Acadians out some migrated to Louisiana but most ended up in the Eastern states. Cajuns began as white French Canadians, some mated with the Mikmac tribe of Canada.

"White Creoles" seem to have disappeared in popular media. The French Creoles. Mostly what you see today on Creoles are mixed race ones. But they are not gone. The Creole white people are still around. Look at the mayor of New Orleans, Mitch Landrieu, he's one in plain sight. I'm a Spanish Creole, descended from Spaniards that settled Louisiana. I know many white creoles joined the Cajuns after the war too.
