Why I want to learn “LA Creole” a.s.a.p…lol also want to learn Haitian Creole and the many other variations of the Creole culture. Would be cool if they all are close cousins culturally? I Also want to badly learn the language to pass on to my children to keep the heritage alive! Lol; to just be educated on historic and ancestral lineage. It’s such a unique culture. 💯

As a Haitian, hear me out. Holliwod just pitted us together! There's ZERO chance of Peter being Haitian: 1- The story depicted are in 1860. about 60 years AFTER Haiti abolish slavery. So there's no way he would be from Haiti. 2 - His full name Peter Gordon is not french based It's more likely that he MIGHT have Haitian ancestry instead of being Haitian himself. Why Holliwood did that? I don't know. But I doubt they had good reason, because the Haitian revolution is one of the most intriguing revolution, and they've not made a movie about it,

I understand your point but Gordon got to the Louisiane plantation because the french people left haiti with many slaves after or while the haitian revolution and went to louisiana since it was closer and a french colony. Most of them did not go back to france. It's very simple to understand.

Not true. There were some St. Dominicans who fled to New Orleans during the Haitian Revolution, so there was a bit of influence on the existing culture in New Orleans, but for the most part the existing culture was so similar that they were easily able to assimilate into it. And of course they had no impact on the culture in the rest of Louisiana. The truth is that these cultures developed parallel to each other. It's no surprise that they turned out very similar, since they're a mix of a lot of the same peoples who were trafficked to these places and who were colonizing these places.

You don't even know what criollo/creole means if you think that. Also Criollo/Creole isn't exclusive to Louisiana. There are multiple states that had French and Spanish settlers and the term was widely used in the remainder of Latin America. I say remainder because Latin America truly starts in Canada (Quebec) and ends in Chile. It's the French that coined the term "Latin America". The update version of Criollo/Creole is literally "Latino". The united states census makes no sense. Where are the Franco, Luso, Italiano selections? Hispanic only why?
