One of the most exciting games in NCAA Basketball history was witnessed on the night of February 9th on 2013 as the home Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeat the Louisville Cardinals in a game consisted of five overtime periods.

Louisville lost that game mostly because of Russ Smith's selfishness in the final seconds of each period. He just HAD to shoot the final shot and try to be the hero. He was and never will be a Kobe, Lebron, or MJ; players who unquestionably take the final shot. There were other terrific players like Siva, Hancock, and Ware to take that last shot.

I remember staying up and watching that entire game by myself in the living room as a freshman in high school in 2013. 5 overtimes after the 2nd half heroics by Jerian Grant! That was the first time I had heard of Grant and my mind always goes back to this game every time his name is brought up. I remember my father coming home that night and me trying to convey to him the kind of game I had just witnessed but words could not describe it. To me, this game is the 2nd most epic game in college basketball history, after the Syracuse-Uconn 6 overtime game from 2009.

Lol dude u r so right !!! I just watched it and I'm even more mad now lol rush smith had the ball at the end if all 5 overtimes and every single shot was terrible.

1st ot with 7 seconds left he stayed at the logo till a sec and shot practically a half court shot 2 ot he drives and misses it completely 3 ot he didnt even get the shot off in time 4 ot he loses the ball And 5 ot he sits there and just shoots it up instead of trying to get a pick or something. Hes one selfish fuck and totally deserved to lose after that pathetic performance
