Would y'all add any other toppings to make this Banana Split Cake your own?

I’ve made this recipe about 20 years ago for a family reunion and the pan was licked clean , the only thing I did differently , I added sliced strawberries with the other fruit and then on the whipped topping I drizzled with chocolate syrup and it really brought the flavors of the banana split together ❤from TX

This is a golden oldie. I used to make this every year for 4th of July or labor day. It's so yummy. ❤❤❤ I think I added chopped pecans with the cherries on top.

Hi Paula ;) I make banana split cake this way, 2 sheet cakes, I cut them both in half, ( 4 sheet slices). Bottom of pan place one sheet slice, next, I add prepare 2 boxes vanilla instant pudding Spread pudding on bottom layer of cake, slice 4 bananas and place on top of pudding, Add next slice of cake, now mash up 2pints strawberries with small bit of sugar (to taste) spread atop cake layer, Next place third sheet slice on top of strawberries, next I take 2 cans drained well crushed pineapple and spread on cake layer, Now add your last sheet cake layer, spread top with good amount of home made whipped cream or cool whip , Top off with maraschino cherries. ( nuts optional) You will be a big hit at next cookout / party! Enjoy!!!!!!

I've made this recipe for many years, and yes, I've added several different ingredients over the years. Walnuts; pecans; peanuts; sliced strawberries; halved dark cherries; halved maraschino cherries; thin sliced fresh peaches without the skin and also fresh plums without the skin. Just depends on who I'm making it for, as to what ingredients to include or exclude. One other thing that I do is put half of the "batter" on top of the baked graham cracker crust, then add half of the crushed pineapple, half of the bananas, walnuts or pecans, and a sprinkling of either strawberries, cherries or peaches. Cover that with the remaining "batter" and then top with the remaining fruits. (Sort of like a lasagna - and it looks sooooo pretty in a glass baking dish or tall glass "seven layer" dish.) Then, add a dollop of fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of melted milk or dark chocolate and/or caramel just before serving. Every time I make this recipe, I have at least two people ask for the recipe. It's definitely a winner!! Thank you Paula!!

Great Paula! Another good desert is Bavarian & Cream - basically peaches with fresh whipping cream -try it ❤

4 Cups of crushed Graham crackers 1-1/2 stick melted butter 2-tbsp sugar Mix together, put into bottom and up sides of a 9”x12” pan and bake for 8 -12 minutes @350• 20 oz crushed drained pineapple 2-Large Eggs 2-sticks softened butter 16 oz - 10X Sugar Spread over crust put pineapple on top then layer sliced bananas Then whip 2-cups whipped cream and 1/2 Cup 10X Sugar, spread over top, chill after 10 minutes, then I put drained maraschino cherries an chopped pecans on top!!!!! Chill overnight. Enjoy

My mom Probably made this when i was a kid but this is the first time seeing thus and i love bananas and ice cream bananas 🍌 split. I will have to try that out soon like i said I like bananas In the beginning it reminds me of cheese cake the butter and the cooking i don't remember my brother and I doing.

Where's the strawberries, the chocolate syrup, the pecans and a little toasted coconut??? Then, it would have been a banana split cake. Make more filling, put in 3 layers. 1st layer: 1/3 filling, pineapple and a little drizzle of chocolate syrup and chopped nuts...2nd layer: bananas and chocolate syrup, chopped nuts 3rd layer strawberries and chocolate syrup, chopped nuts. On top put whipped cream or cool whip with a few cherries and toasted coconut.

The best part of this video is watching you eat that dessert at the end! That alone makes me want to make this!

I always add sugar.. my hubby won’t be happy without it.. 😀😀😀😀

I liked the camerawork in this video! Interesting concept, not sure about the execution. Bummer the crust she ultimately had was crumbly. I do like a nice solid thick graham cracker crust like she talked about from the start. For the life of me I can’t fathom what the raw egg/“confectionate” sugar/butter combo tastes like. I think I’d rather have something more classic cake-like (baked) or even a pudding or cheesecake type base? Was hoping this was more a literal spin on a typical banana split-which would have, yes, bananas and pineapple-but chocolate, strawberries, and nuts in some form too! Problem with the fresh whipped cream is it will liquefy soon enough unfortunately as we all know…

I would substitute the eggs with heavy cream.
