It is KILLING me how nobodies talking about how when Uche originally found out that Aaliyah and Lydia were close, he said oh Lydia will be the best friend you will ever have. Then when it was convenient for him, now all she was stalking you? Why weren’t you pissed as soon as you learned your stalker was latching onto your girl in the dorms? He gave Aaliyah absolutely no warning about this so called crazy girl AND encouraged her to be friends with her! Makes no sense.

If Uche cared about Aaliyah why didn't he ask Lydia about what happened in the women's quarters? Lydia made Aaliyah so uncomfortable she left. So why isn't Uche questioning Lydia about that? It's not just Nigerian men, american black men also view suffering as endurance and a positive trait. It's in the language they use when referring to what makes her a good woman. The first thing they mention is her being "strong." For many, Black Americans love is built on a historical premise of struggle. That show "Black Love" on the OWN Network highlighted that weekly. That mess wasn't aspirational, it was frightening.

He never imagined she would not only be in a happy relationship but that relationship would be with Chris. His ego could not handle this new information and in an attempt to gain power and control back he plucked at her self esteem like a needle for that entire pointless conversation. It was about ego. Quiet as it's kept, I think he also lashed out at her from misplaced anger that he knows good and well his wife and her entire family look at him as a broke loser.

The only person Uche couldn’t manipulate and get under their skin was Milton which is wild seeing he’s the youngest. Uche is such a good manipulator he even has some of the audience caping for him. We throw the word gaslighting around so much people don’t even recognize it anymore when it’s right in their face. Literally trying to make everyone think Lydia is crazy and they were never serious when it’s clear he cheated on her and she reacted like most people would. Literally if he wanted he could put the same logic on Aaliyah who left, reached out to him, blocked him, unblocked him, sent him a vn, unsent it etc. Men who never talk about what they do to you but focus on your reactions to THEIR actions are almost alwaaayyyysss abusive in some way…

Izzy has low self-esteem. That's what I get from him. He compensates for his low self-esteem with attention from women (and lowering other women's self-esteem/making them feel bad and/or guilty). The conversations that he had with Lydia and Johnie (ESPECIALLY Johnie) were so unnecessary. It's like he gets off on letting women know he rejected them or he gets off on the sound of it/repeating it out loud to himself. It's also like once he's had interest in a woman, he doesn't want them to be with anyone else (even though he apparently doesn't want them anymore), for example, Johnie. The way he was talking to Johnie was almost like he was hoping that she would just leave crushed and wouldn't get a chance to be with anyone else (or at least wouldn't get the chance to be with Chris). Like why does he care whether or not she was his number 1 or not if he didn't choose her or want her anyway? It just seems like Chris and Johnie's relationship (logically) shouldn't bother him, regardless of the fact. It should be more of a concern for Johnie and Chris, than one for Izzy. I'm not going to put on the cape for Johnie because I'm still unsure of her. However, Izzy's entire conversation with her in episode 7 did not even have to happen. He just wanted her to feel bad. And Stacy is not being wise by going along with it. Izzy just wants his ego boosted. He has low self-esteem. EDIT: Also, just to add, it's also like he never wants to be seen as "the bad guy". He's always trying to make sure that he's not seen as bad in the eyes of others (what I got from his unnecessary conversation with Lydia and Johnie, and also got a bit of the from his meeting with Stacy's family and the "lost and found" conversation). He's always is trying to present himself as more "put together" than he actually is. And he also always seems to try to present himself, his behavior, his intentions, etc as more "innocent" than they actually are. Edit: Also, as a little bonus opinion, it's like Izzy and Uche are two sides of the same coin. Just that Uche is the head and Izzy is the tail. They do the same thing. One is just better at it than the other. And they may have both similar and different motivations for doing so.

Uche accusing Lydia of not knowing how to have a conversation was funny. Uche doesn’t have conversations when there is a conflict, he talks AT people. And expects them to sit there quietly and listen while he buries them. And if they walk away he gets furious. The whole time he was talking at Lydia I was waiting for him to arrive at the point. I just didn’t see why he had to sit there and rehash their entire relationship. Especially as up to that point he had said nothing but nice things about Lydia. When production discovered they knew each other they wanted to kick them out but they plead to stay. They said nice things about each other. Now all of a sudden Lydia is the crazy chick from Fatal Attraction? Like Jess said, if Lydia was so crazy, why didn’t he just decide to gtfo as soon as he realized she was there? I don’t think Uche and Lydia are in this together. Because I don’t see what Lydia is gaining from having this man paint her as a crazy stalker.

@gracekelly7879 I think Lydia is quite capable of explaining herself and that they are both omitting info (unless the editors deliberately cut certain things out). Aaliyah said Lydia cursed her out and it was so upsetting what happened between the 2 of them that she left the show period because she felt she couldn't trust either of them. That argument was deliberately not shown to viewers. And judging by Lydia's demeanor afterwards you can't even tell she was even remotely upset by it. She never has even brought it up which is hella shady to me since she kept going on and on to Aaliyah about how much she loved her and how she saw herself in her. Yet after she got what she wanted (which I believe was to sabotage the relationship Uche developed) she wasn't even bothered. I think Lydia is fake and a liar. Uche isn't innocent and neither is she. Throughout the show she constantly swaps out words to paint a narrative in her favour. She told Aaliyah "we" considered to start from ground zero when it was only she that said that. She told the other women at the meet up that Uche said that she was looking at "his instagram stories or something" when that was not what he said. That's why Milton keeps using the line I believe your perception is your reality.

Hey Woo ! I am so thanksfull for what you've said about U... character. I dated a guy like this years ago (just 5 months). When i started to stand up for myself, he asked for a meeting in his favorite bar. During this meeting, he spoke (very polite, no curse words) but when it was my turn to speak, he started to talk with a (female) bartender like i wasn't there. Then, i stayed because i didn't wanna make a scene and i thought that we could go back to our conversation. That AH had the audacity to end the conversation with : "we good" who means no relationship but lets stay friends. I felt so humilitated. I decided for preserving my peace to stop talking to him. So 2 months after, when i saw him flirted in front of me, i decided to write him a very long mail (no curse words but with facts and receipts) because i thought that AH deserved to know my thoughts. And you know what he said to me ?! i was violent in my words 😂. Some men always want to have the last words, especially when they got a good job and all entourage (family, friends, co-workers, neighboors...) describe them like the good guy. Somebody can be good to you, and awfull to me. As a society, we need to hear both sides. ❤️☮️

My mother was his perfect wife until she wouldn’t take his abuse, then she had more abuse for having boundaries and putting her foot down. Who was his next relationship with another child? Another long-suffering woman. By then, I didn’t have the energy or connection to that woman to support her through his nonsense. Having endurance, empathy, and love for others through the ages are wonderful qualities to have as a person. No one deserves to be abused because they have those qualities. I hope Aaliyah and other people like her begin to understand themselves so people like Uche have to stay far away.

NOPE...we are RUNNING FARRRR! absolutely no more, nope. these women do have a choice, 100, and they are adults clearly gaining something by staying in the marriage but some of them were never told or shown different was possible, most of them were raised to seek and find value in being a wife first and foremost because these sexist af societies will refuse single/childless women respect or credibility, being single was/is a curse people would go to church for deliverance, fasting and prayer, exorcism...the works just to find husband (the industry of "men of god" scamming desperate single women in nigeria...that needs a whole documentary on its own) so of course in marriage this fear/stigma persists to the point of them choosing abusers over their own children, parenting their abusive husbands and leaving children to parent themselves and experience emotional neglect, heck even recruiting the children to parent their abusive father by anticipating his emotions and trying to be "good" to avoid emotional outbursts, and this was considered normal growing up, "children are meant to be seen not heard"...and tbh, yeah, they're abuse survivors, but they're also accomplices, no child should have to experience being responsible for managing the emotions of an adult toddler person with traits like Uche is portraying..imagine this kind of person raising kids with a passive partner who's scared to stand up to him (probably the only kind of partner he'll pick or want, we obvi now know why he didn't go for Miriam)

i relateeee!!!! everything you’re saying. i too am working on recovering honestly. especially the mental chains…i refuse to see her as a victim anymore because this grown woman is straight up choosing and making choices and i cannot want more for her than she wants for herself, their favorite quote “God hates divorce”, i said “God likes femicide, abi??” when i hear “married for 35, 40 years” these days, all i hear is a woman who has endured abuse for most of her life to the point where she has no idea what normal is anymore. chai, nne daalu for this reply. truly. i feel so seen.

I think production doesn't want to admit they got played, duped, bamboozled!! That's why they didn't show the other couples

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice how Uche paints his narratives to seem like a victim. He's a habitual liar. Omission is lying. And he uses his profession on those in his personal life. Why are these women sitting through these interrogations like they're criminals. No ma'am.
