Love T K O sample Teddy Pendergrass (Done Right)

7 жыл бұрынI know its been used countless times but this sample never gets old. Its one of my favorites but I haven't heard it been used correctly. Its a certain way you have to do this sample. it doesn't require a lot because the song is great to begin with. I heard people trying to chop it up like a hip hop beat but this sample can't be used like that. This sample is meant to flow smoothly just like the song. So this is my approach on how this sample should be been done. As usual I added my musical elements to it and I used 3 different versions of Love T.K.O. in this sample beat. I hope you enjoy it.

662antdog77 Thanks bro... Sade is one I’ve been seriously listening to her music and I’m a fan as well. I’ll definitely add her to list. My thought process of sampling is never take it to far away from the original...there is no need. I’d rather sample and remix it and not destroy GREAT MUSIC buy chopping it up. Which in my opinion wrecks what made it great to begin with. If you’re going to chop it up in a way that changes the vide to something else then you may as well create something original and not chop it at all. Anyway thanks again bro and keep sharing.

Isaiah Jones No problem bro. But remember timing is everything when chopping samples. When I start a beat where I will use a sample just like I did with this beat. The first thing I ALWAYS DO is find the original tempo of the source. I do that by dragging the audio inside logic. Then I use a plugin in logic called bpm counter. That plugin gives me tempo of the sample. Sometimes it’s not perfect but close enough. Fl studio has this type of detection as well. Then I use time stretching to make the sample fit the grid. I usually do it in 4 bar increments until I get the whole song totally in sync with click in logic. From there it’s just a matter of chopping, cutting, pasting, and moving things around in the timeline. Then I use eq‘s & filters to mask or remove certain frequencies. I add my own beat and other sounds to personalize it to make it my own. I sometimes change the pitch and add effects. I can chop it and change the order to. The sky is the limit once you have it locked to the grid. If you find it to difficult to do in Fl Studio then the easiest software sampler out right now is Serato Sample. ITS SUPER EASY TO USE BRO!! It basically does the work for you. Try the demo of serato sample. See if that doesn’t help. Let me know and I’ll put together a video tutorial.
