I’m so glad that u’re falling in love with the Dreamies 🥺 I’d like to give some more facts about NCT Dream. They really have the soft spots in most of NCTzens heart cuz we can see how they grew up so much. And their brotherhood is just so precious. The story of how they ended up like now is full of miracle~. They trained together years before debuted in NCT Dream, Jisung was still an elementary student. They even went to Jisung’s graduation together. 1. Mark is the official leader for NCT Dream. And the dreamies love him so so much despite being clowned often too. But when he graduated, all of them cried. The only moment u see all of them cry. And it hurts to watch. Watching their recording diaries, or clip when they shoot mv or practice, you can really see how Mark lead them very well, and how they all look up to their Mark hyung a lot. Mark was never seen cried before and after that moment. But with the Dreamies, he did. Mark was absent in 2 comebacks (boom & ridin’ era). The dreamies still talk to him a lot in vlive etc, and Mark still came to support Dreamies when they shoot something. 2. When NCT Dream held their concert (The Dream Show) for the first time without Mark, it was very emotional. Haechan, Renjun, and Jisung broke into tears on the stage. There’s an infamous fancam of that iconic moment. Jisung cried for 3 days straight in Seoul concert because he thought that would be the last concert he has with the hyungs due to the graduation system. And Haechan said he missed Mark the most in time like that. Try not to cry challenge : nctzens failed. i stan them in 2020 right before they announce the grad system is canceled, but i remember cried watching mark’s grad and the clip of their concert ending ment before the 00 line (supposed to) grads, and still didn’t know that he’s coming back. 3. Candle Light and Dear Dream were the songs for Mark’s graduation. Members participated in writing the lyrics, both songs are so beautiful and have emotional lyrics. Even until recently they said they always feel like crying listening to that song. 4. Their iconic & famous chant “Yo Dream, jjeoreo juja fighting” was led by Mark, so even after he graduated they used to call him every time they were about to yell the chant lol, and then hung up the phone right after. It was so sweet. And then Jeno took the lead after Mark’s graduation, also as an unofficial leader. Both of them are so dependable according to members. Now that the captain’s back, he leads the chant once again and the dreamies are so obedient when it comes to follow Mark on the chant 🎉 5. The sweet story about Chenle & Jisung’s friendship fate. So long time ago, before Chenle was even join SM Ent, he was a child prodigy in China. Jisung was also a child dancer/actor in Korea. So one day there’s this event they both attended as the performer. They didn’t know each other, they didn’t speak each other language but for some reasons they both sticked only with each other. Years after they’re so surprised when Chenle joined SM and they ended up debut in the same team, currently as the 2 maknae of NCT as a whole. This story was literally the cutest. 6. Mark, Haechan, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung were part of SM’s predebut group “SM Rookies” and participated in Mickey Mouse Club before. Gosh they really are the stars since day 1. Check out their predebut performance sometimes guys ^^ also they went to a restaurant by the time they all reached 160cm lol that’s the cutest thing ever. 7. The famous “Rooftop Fight”. They all promised that they will wait till the day Jisung turned adult, and they will fight in the rain, on the rooftop, wearing suit & tie like in noir movies. And they really did it this year since Jisung has turned adult. Yet another great memories unlocked. 8. They all have the friendship rings and diligently wearing those rings for this comeback cuz they make the strict rules and point system throughout the Hot Sauce comeback lol. The losers had to go to Busan all alone, eat there, and go back to Seoul right away. Jisung went there alone lol. They also sort out everything, literally everything by rock paper scissors. And are very competitive about it. 9. Hot Sauce is the the best selling SM album of all time. That’s how much NCTzens anticipating this comeback. They’re now entitled TRIPLE MILLION SELLER for Hot Sauce and Hello Future, still counting tho. Became the only group after BTS that ever reach that milestone. And also the youngest ever. They broke records left and right, not only for NCT or SM but the industry, the charts, and all of that. Finally. After being uncertain for years :( 10. SM didn’t plan to make them fixed unit, that’s why they only have mini albums before. Maybe that’s why people not really hear about them before. But the fans got so attached with the formation that SM finally cancelled the graduation system. you're right when you say there's just something special about them that you can't explain. their bond and chemistry is unmatched, probably cause they literally grew up together (jisung was only about 11 when he joined sm as a trainee) i got into nct in 2019 when mark had already left dream, so i didn't feel the heartbreak of it so much. but when it was announced he was coming back in 2020 it was the best feeling ever

I say this a lot but I'm really jealous of people who didn't go through Mark having to leave the group it was so sad 😭 even though Mark was still in another group just not seeing him with Dream felt really weird and wrong 😩

Dream is indead very touchy and affectionate with each other, there is always someone cuddling like little puppies in the corner it's so sweet 🥺 I casually listen a lot of groups but usually don't stan them, with Dream, there was an INSTANT CLICK. I have been a kpop listener for a long time, but I think they are the only group that could've made me ult a new group after 7 years of ulting only one group.. They truly are a bunch of lovely and talented humans 💞

Someone probably already mentioned this, but Chenle and Jisung are literal soulmates. They were both performing at an international children's show, Chenle sang Jisung danced. They sat next to each other & even though they didn't speak the same language they ended up playing hand games and becoming friends. There's even a picture of them together. Years later when Chenle was coming to Korea for SM he remembered the boy he met and wondered if he'd get the chance to see him. Surprise they not only ended up in the same group NCT, but also the same unit together. Chenle talks about it over a few interviews. Also Chenle only trained for a few months so he barely spoke any Korean. How he learned was through Renjun - actually teaching him, and Jisung - trial and error, lol.

NCT Dream and SHINee have kinda the same vibes especially when SHINee first started out. SHINee is known as Korea's most precious group and NCT Dream is def becoming that as well! Not comparing, they just really remind me of SHINee since I have been a fan of both groups since both their debuts. The relationship among the members are so so wholesome

You’re right, alongside being a lead dancer, Jaemin is also lead rapper, center and visual of the group. To this day, I don’t quite understand why they never focus on his talents as much in these guides; he’s an incredible dancer and rapper, he loves photography and is really, really good at it, he was the first one to have an acting job in nct, he has a really caring nature and is emotionally very mature, he’s a great cook and so much more. It’s a shame, really. There’s much more to him than cute smiles, aegyo and liking coffee.

not even 5 minutes in but i gotta leave a comment 😭 i was there when mark graduated and it was really rough. we go up was the last 7dream comeback in Aug 2018, but at that time we had no idea it was the LAST comeback. we thought there would be one last album that winter before mark graduated, but SM ended up pushing 127's promotions (as usual) so that was it, and it crushed us dreamzens. what made it worse was that haechan was injured during a dance practice (for 127...) in mid-december, so he was missing for all of the year-end performances (those occur during the new year period). this meant that the very last 7dream stages weren't actually 7dream, since haechan had to sit out. so, we were robbed of that very last chance to see 7dream perform before mark's graduation at like, midnight new year's eve. it was honestly so hard for us dreamzens back then because all we wanted was one last time to see 7dream promote together as the full unit before mark was ripped away, but we never got that until hot sauce this year (yes, dejavu was in 2020 but it wasn't an actual comeback so it doesn't count imo). imagine stanning a group whose future and member lineup was so uncertain that they only had ONE comeback a year. imagine how starved we were for nct dream, for years! i'm not exaggerating. being an nct dream ult is exhausting on our emotions because we love & cherish 7dream so much, but it had seemed like the world was set against 7dream ever getting back together officially, in any capacity. like you said, mark is such an integral part of the team- he's the leader, the eldest who gets teased by his dongsaengs, the cutiepie, the feedback-giver, the one who chants, "yo dream!", for the team. he's as important to 7dream as any of the other members. those years that mark was kept away from dream were definitely like trying to complete a puzzle with a missing piece. the members always mentioned how much they missed mark and didn't feel complete, either. hot sauce & hello future era has felt like a fever dream to an old loyal dreamzen like me. i'm so sad that it's over, and that we likely won't get 7dream for the rest of 2021 or even 2022. i'm nearing the end of my 4th year of ulting my bestest boys and while it's been a rollercoaster, i have never regretted loving and supporting them on their journey.

To answer ur question, we were devastated when the Dreamies became 6, when Mark left, I kinda was relieved cuz it's less work and exhaustion for him, but on the other hand the members and us missed him so much, I still cry to this day when I listen to some songs that they had before his graduation 😭

Jaemin is actually the center of the group. Just see their group photos, he often stands on the center. And he and Jisung are flexible, both can sing and rap too. So the position in this guide (or other guide) is not 100% accurate. Mark, if you notice, also gets more singing part in Dream songs, not like in any other unit's songs where he mostly raps.

I can no longer listen to We Go Up happily because even though it’s a bright song I literally remember the feeling of dread that whole comeback since it was dedicated to Mark graduating and every time I hear the song I feel like the emotions of that time. It was just a really emotional time tbh and even the dreamies couldn’t go through their first concerts after the graduation without crying 💔

The Boom era (first era after Mark left) is still one of my favorite NCT Dream eras and I think they really proved their talent; a lot of the members were overlooked because of Mark. So I would say without that period of time where the other members could shine, they wouldn’t be the perfect group they are today as 7. 😁

As someone who ults mark ever since he debuted AND ults nct dream, the tears I've had when he graduated is just crazy. Aside from we go up, candle light mv was also dedicated for mark's departure in dream and made me cry so hard. Hearing other people aside from mark lead the yo dream chant feels so wrong

Mark never cried publicly up to that point: not for their debut, not for their first music show win, not for their new artist award, never. but he cried when he gave (what we thought at the time) his last speech as Mark of NCT Dream. i cried then, and i cried when he came back.

When Mark left it was really sad honestly 😭 a lot of people tried to contain their sadness and whatnot because we wanted to stay positive for the comeback. But when the dream show came around and they were crying it was ROUGH!! I always thought that Dream was for the younger members of NCT which would be good to attract a younger audience. I thought as members graduated they would be replace with new young member and the Dream concept would remain. The NCT dreamies - babies... The older graduates would move to other subunits, it's not like we would never see Mark again, like you said his everywhere - I was excited to watch them grow.

I got into them after Mark graduated but I liked the graduation concept as an idea because at the time that's how we thought the new members would be added through the Dream unit. After I realized how long they'd all actually been together and saw the footage of them crying and missing Mark I was like please make it stop😭😄. They are truly a band of brothers. Alot of people haven't see the videos of them predebut as mouseketeers. They've been a group a really long time. Jeno and Jaemin have been close friends since middle school before debuting. So I think like you were saying they have a special chemistry unlike any other group. The only other group that has similar chemistry to me is Shinee ànd I love them too. Dream is the unit where I basically bias every member ☺ I just love them. Those labels for their positions are a bit scant to me. I'm sure you know SM group members are not allowed to be just good at one thing. They swap positions so much. Jaemin and Jeno are considered to be main visuals, rappers, dancers both are also frequent centers especially when Mark graduated. Both Jeno and Haechan are often group leaders especially when Mark is absent. They chose Mark as their leader and consider Jeno their team captain he's caring and very responsible. Jaemin, Jeno are often considered the parents of the group. Jaemin cooks alot for the others ànd both he and Jeno check on and show affection for the others. I love how they take care of one another. I wonder if you’re drawn to the dreamies in a similar way you’re drawn to shinee? I see a lot of similarities between the two groups as they both debuted young and have really close relationships and great chemistry because of that. Also both groups are insanely talented :) a lot of the dreamies look up to shinee as their role models too!

Our dreamies really love each other cuz they have been together since they were little and they only have each other. They really complement each other and their friendship seem special for me. Like Jisung and and Chenle has meet before they get into SM in a competition. Jaemin and Jeno get into SM the same day and time. Mark and Haechan has been together in many groups. Renjun is dream's primadona, like all of them love him and always call him cute. I love that they call each other cute all the time and care for one another.

About Haechan, we always said that Dream is his karma. They are ruthless with him.

4:34 When mark left nct dream back then as a markzen, i legit cried. It was just so sad even though i know their friendship wont end there. I thought it'll be weird to see just 6 of the dreamies performing.. but when they came out with BOOM, i liked it still because they've shown and given us a different concept and different version of NCT DREAM. Yes it'll be better when they're 7 (at that time) but the dreamies still showed that they can continue bringing the group up as 6. BUT when sm announced that Mark will be returning it became the happiest day of my ctzen life. The longing was there. The anticipation was there. So when they released 7llin in the Dream, i was so happy because dreamies got their captain back and all is VERY WELL again. WE EVEN HAD A 7DREAM BOOM AND RIDIN STAGE!!! 😭💚

I’ve been an nctzen since early 2017 (almost 2 years before mark’s graduation). I absolutely dreaded the end of 2018 and we go up comeback was so bittersweet. I did cry a bit when he officially graduated. At that time I couldn’t imagine how I would be able to enjoy dream without him (especially musically since he was a big part of dream’s discography). I was also worried dream’s popularity might decline as mark was arguably the most popular member. However once dream came back with boom they exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved the album and did not find it lacking in any way. I thought that the members shined better than ever. Their stages were amazing too and their interviews really funny. The comeback was way more successful than some of their previous ones combined. There was a point where (I guiltily admit) I would forget that mark was ever a part of dream and whenever I went back to their previous releases it would feel kind of weird seeing him there. I did feel extremely happy to hear he was being added back and when I started watching their new content with him in it I remembered how much I enjoyed ot7. The members also obviously missed him so much. That being said it was really sad experiencing his graduation and really exciting to have him come back but for the time he was gone it wasn’t that upsetting and I was able to enjoy dream to the fullest despite his absence

I am more of 127 because of JungWoo but the chemistry of Dream is really undeniable. Maybe it because they really grew up together. Their closeness and the kind of friendship they have is indeed genuine. It’s really different compared to others. My favorite past time before was to watch Chewing Gum and Boom MV alternately. Just to see how much they’ve grown most specially Jisung and ChenLe. These group is undeniably talented. The 7 of them don’t lack anything. Vocals, rapping, dancing (you should see their dance practices) and visuals are great. I like their songs cause it’s just feel good and bubbly good. I like seeing how excited you are discovering the many facets of Dream. Enjoy the journey cause you won’t be disappointed and there’s really more of it in the future. They’ll just get better and better.

I've been with them since predebut, if you ask what I feel when Mark and 00z graduation? it's hurt. I'm crying everytime I see Jisung, I can't even watch chewing gum at that time. Valid point about sm taking a gamble on 14-year-olds! I do think that they highly value their training system though so my thought is that higher-ups trust that regardless of what their artists' voice ends up sounding like, with proper training and the right songs, they'll still be marketable.
